  • I confess that I bought a dress when I shouldn't have.  I have a vet bill that is the size of most people's mortgage payment and yet I can stop shopping even though I told myself I can't.

MY only hope is that when the dress arrives, it won't fit and I have to send it back.  But you know it will fit perfectly because isn't that the way life is???

  • Confession: I haven't gotten out of bed yet. And the way I feel today, I could just stay here all day.

For Lauren: when I do get up, I'll be eating a mini red velvet bunt cake for breakfast.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • I'm emailing our dads with all the details for our big anniversary trip (flight details, hotel information, scanned passports) and now all I want to do is play around making our itinerary for London and Edinburgh. I have a ton of work to do, but I'm really only going to get one thing other than vacation planning accomplished today- I can already tell.

  • @MrsC7  here it is.  I am trying to build up my fall wardrobe since losing weight.  I have given more than 1/2 of my fall clothes to my mom.

  • I had a Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning & I feel kinda "meh" about it.  I don't get the obsession.  I'll stick to my caramel drinks!
  • Junk food confession: I'm going to eat two apple cinnamon fried donuts after I've been calorie counting all week.  I don't care.

  • I feel like a moron somedays when it comes to this pregnancy and the way we are doing things. I'm starting to feel like this was the stupidiest idea ever and that we just should have waited. We assumed and were told we'd have an answer in my first trimester as to whether or not this baby has what I have. And now, here I am at 15 weeks with no answers yet. And unless by some miracle I get one today, I have to go in for an amnio on Monday and wait another two weeks. Seriously? And yes, I could get something from the first test while we wait for the second's results but still. I was hoping that I'd have some good news to tell our parents soon. This is starting to get rediculous. I'm stressed thinking about waiting, I cry at work half the time I get a call from my genetic counselor and DH & I are both mad at our insurance company. I know things could be worse, I get that but it doesn't always help. Who knows, maybe this is fate's way of telling us everything is going to be ok and just to stop worrying & trust in the powers that be.
Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

I'm not exactly sure what is going on but ((hugs))!!!  Pregnancy is stressful enough without extra worries!  I hope you get some answers soon!

I still have 1 pair of maternity jeans hanging in my closet and it's been almost 16 months since I gave birth. I almost wore them today actually. They fit really nicely and as long as I'm wearing them with a loose top I can just fold down the belly panel. Comfy!

  • My confession is that I had a complete breakdown last night over an onion.

I'm sitting for a friend's high-maintenance, disobedient, incontinent dog, which means staying at her filthy apartment for a week. Between the discomfort of the living situation and constantly having to clean up dog pee, I'm crazy stressed and on edge. Then last night I tried to cook a simple dinner and realized that (although she does cook for herself) the only knife she owns is a single dull paring knife. That I had just tossed in the dishwasher for a one-hour cycle. I spent the next 20 minutes trying to dice an onion by sawing at it with a butter knife. When it was in reasonably-mangled pieces, I went to turn on the stove and knocked the cutting board on the floor. The onion bits were all covered with grit and dog hair and after scooping them in a paper towel and trying in vain to rinse them off, I flipped out and threw a handful of wet paper towel and dirty onion across the room. Then I gave up and went to bed.

  • I bought an HP sweatshirt on a whim because it was on sale.
    image
It was too big at the time and I was too lazy to return, so it sat in my closet forever.  I dug it out on maternity leave and it fit perfectly. I wore it nearly every single day. Now whenever I see that shirt, it reminds me of sleepless nights and late night snuggles. It gives me warm HP fuzzies.

  • I feel crappy today because of my sinuses.  My stomach is super queasy from all the drainage.  Blech!  (Thankfully today is my Sunday)  But I am still going to the Greek Festival tonight, despite that and the rainy weather.  I need my dolmades!!

  • I'm hoping that the weather forecast is accurate and it will rain cats and dogs for the National Book Festival tomorrow.  Then everyone will stay home and I won't have to wait in multiple-hour lines to get my books signed.  :)

Thanks for the reminder that it is this weekend, I am going to have to brave the possible rain tomorrow to go!

I turned down a job offer today. No one here knows that I got it or turned it down yet so I'm thinking that I might go into my manager's office to see if I can get more money out of them here.

  • I have this rule (read phobia) of wearing any clothes I buy before washing them. Well, I bought a shirt at Ann Taylor this week and REALLY wanted to wear it today. How bad could it be right?
Wasn't till I got to work I realized it smelled. Like cheap perfume. I stink. I smell like a cheap whore. I am getting a headache from the perfume. It is so bad, I may go home at lunch to change.

Moral of this story- I have rules for myself for a reason. Grrr.
    But I look fabulous.
