Decisions being made in the Flamingo household (long)
After much discussion and soul-searching, Mr. Flamingo and I made the decision late last week to stop TTC and pursue adoption.
We are going to take a break from baby-related things for a few months and then hopefully start the process in early 2014. We are also planning a move around March and don't want to be in the midst of a home study until after we move. In the meantime we are going to do some research, save money as much as possible, and just enjoy being married. We are also planning on using BC in the meantime to avoid repeating the cycle of pg/loss while in the adoption process. We aren't saying never to bio children, but for the foreseeable future it is off the table. We have also both struggled with depression as a result of our 3T issues and need some time to grieve our losses and get used to not TTC anymore.
We are most likely going to pursue domestic infant adoption, but are keeping an open mind to other possibilities.
I know the road ahead is likely long and will come with it's own bumps and setbacks, but for now I am relieved. I always dreamed of adopting someday, and although it's coming about it a different way than I imagined it would, I am still excited for what's ahead.
I love this board and can't imagine leaving. I hope to stick around and chat and offer support where I can.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
