I know I'm 6 weeks early, but I just picked up the kid's costume at BRU so I've got it on the brain. What are costume plans for you/your SO/your offspring this year? Do you try to do themes?
The kid is being Mickey Mouse, as he is currently beyond obsessed with all things Mickey Mouse Club House. I almost considered doing a Mickey theme for his birthday this year, even after doing it last year. That's how obsessed he is.

It's tough because you don't want to waste the $, but you want to get the pictures for their "first" everything, am I right?
We managed to snag a sleepsack Batman costume over the summer for his 1st Halloween when he was 3 weeks old. Try Old Navy. That's where we got his costume last year. They always have coupons and sales and onesie type costumes for the babes.
ETA: they have batman and superman long sleeved onesies! So cute!

This year DS is going to be Super Grover 2.0... I'm making it myself and scared out of my mind because I have to do most of it without a pattern. He's also going to be a monkey for school (my mom got it for him). I LOVE halloween costumes for kids so I've been looking forward to this for weeks already and agonizing over what he would be.

I found a worn-once lion costume on one of the local FB yard sale boards because I'm too cheap to pay for a costume that he might not even wear. I'll most likely have a newborn at this point so I'm not going out. Mr. D might take him to the neighbor's house but J goes to bed at 7:30 anyway. Wasn't sure if daycare was going to have them wear costumes either.
I'd like to dress him up to at least get a picture but now I'm not sure he will put on the headpiece so the whole thing might be a bust.

So my kids have two costumes. Because we are doing a Halloween bike ride and I need something warmer for that and for regular Halloween another and because I love Halloween.
So J is going to be rosie the riveter and M evil knievel for the bike ride.
For regular Halloween they are going as a league if their own because m is baseball obsessed.

Lol. For milo first I sewed a brown felt circle on a green onesie he was an avocado. Like this takes no effort.
check consignment shops!
T1 decided he's too cool for a costume this year. T2 has decided for the third year in a row he will be going as "Halloween Jonathan" which is no costume and just a themed shirt. And T3 is being Belle because we both love her and I already bought it to use for dress up. This is my least favorite holiday

Why couldn't we?! We'd get an extra wearing out of the costumes if we did a GTG with the kids.
