Unless I get a surprise BFP this cycle (bahahahaha!), I will be 30 by the time I'm a mom. My mom was 29 when she finished having kids. 3T sucks. Fun fact: if @seahorse01 sends me a baby this cycle, my due date would be my birthday. ETA: I don't think there's anything wrong with having kids in your 30s. It's just not what I had imagined for myself years ago.
TTC #1 since Feb. '12. dx: "unexplained" IF

Re: The big 3-0

  • @seahorse01, get on it!

I am new at this, but will be hitting that no baby before I'm 30 point in the next 30 days. It sucks, but we're still young and it's not 30 years ago when everyone started having babies at 22. Yes, some people do but not nearly as many. I have a feeling you'll be getting your BFP very soon. I dunno why, maybe seahorse is sending out vibes that make me think this for you. FX!

  • Yah, it sucks to hit that marker. Maybe you could be pg by the time you're 30?

My 30th sucked because it was really stressed to me to make it happen by then. If it doesn't happen,  you will get past it. Good luck this cycle!

  • It is a crappy realization to have. ((hugs))

My mom had 3 of us (and was divorced) by the time she hit 30. My sister had her first before 30. Two close friends have had 3 each before 30. I was just quitting BC when I turned 30. I never thought I'd be that age before starting, and I hate that I'll never be a "young mom."

That's my long way of saying, yeah, 3T sucks ass. It sucks when you have to hit that sort of milestone.

3T sucks donkey balls. I hate that you had to have that realization that your dream isn't working out as you would like it to.  I really hope you don't have to celebrate another birthday with that feeling looming.

  • I totally understand where you are coming from.  I try to not have milestones like that in my head, but I also thought I would have my first child by 30.  Now I'm just hoping that I'm pregnant by 30 (next May).  I think the worst thing is when people say, "You're not getting any younger."  Umm...I know, but also 29 is not ancient! Hugs to you!

  • Milestones are the worst. 25 , 30, or 40 when it's another birthday, Christmas, etc without what you are waiting for. Buying a house, getting engaged, having a baby etc...
3t is the worst though because it lasts so much longer and all those events center around family and traditions. And like you said, it's not how you imagined it. :(
