WIJFR: Dark Places, by Gillian Flynn (NS)
A
masterfully disturbing yet compelling book. I don't know how Flynn
manages to create such flawed, fairly awful people and still keep the
reader engaged in the story. She has a true gift. I think I liked this better than Gone Girl, and I've put Sharp Objects on hold. She's got a dark, dark mind, but I feel compelled to read her stuff. This reminded me of the Truman Capote book In Cold Blood, and I'd bet money she got the idea from there, but she took it in a whole different direction (not to mention that ICB was based on true events and this is fiction).

I fangirl/girl crush GF hard! Gone Girl has been my favorite thus far but Dark Places came in to a close second. I can't wait for her to come out with something new!!
