Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

How do you like it so far? Is it for any of the challenges or just fun?

Re: Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

  • Happy Friday indeed

I am reading In the Garden of the Beasts for my book club on my local board

And the Secret Keeper by Kate Morton just for me :-)

So far I am enjoying both books. They add to my annual count but no challenges

  • I'm reading Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. I just started, so I don't know what I think of it yet.

It's #25 for my goal of 25! I was thinking of upping my goal, but this is the time of the year that I tend to get busy with crafts for the holidays, so I will probably just see how many I get to.

  • I'm still reading And the Mountains Echoed. I should finish it this weekend, hopefully.

I started listening to Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close on my way into work this morning.

These are 63 and 64 for the year.

  • I'm reading Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot. It's ok so far, but not really grabbing me. It's kind of just a filler book for me until my book club book comes in at the library.

    It's # 24 of 30.

  • I am reading I'm Not Her.
I am re-listening to TFIOS for my BMB book club.
They should be around 139-140 for tge year. My gr tracker hasn't been updating so its hard to say.
  • I just finished Lover Mine by JR Ward. It is my 94th book of the year, well on my way to my goal of 100!

I am either going to start today Lover Unleashed or else Zane by Brenda Jackson. Zane is a quick Harlequin, and I only have it from the library for a few more days, so perhaps I should step back from the BDB and read that instead.

  • I'm listening to The Kitchen House, but I'm struggling with it.  I really don't like one of the two narrators, and my frustration with her poor decisions is growing.  I'm reading The Bitter Kingdom, which is the third book of a trilogy.  I'm enjoying that.  148-149

  • I'm reading Storm Glass by Maria V. Snyder.  I've just started, but so far so good.

I'm listening to both Outlander and Will Grayson, Will Grayson on audio.  It was getting towards the end of Outlander during a particularly tough part, so I've taken a breather with WG, WG.

  • I am reading Under the Dome. I saw the show, so I sort of have a rough idea of things, but I think the book has been a lot darker.  It will be somewhere around 178 for the year.

I'm reading Warm Bodies (#22).  Who knew a book about zombies could be so beautiful?  Isaac Marion has an amazing way with words.  I've already seen the movie so I think it's probably going to get 4 stars.  I feel like the plot's not keeping me quite as engaged as it should be, but I'm sure it's because I've seen it.  His writing gets 5 stars from me though.  I've found myself rereading passages just because they're so gorgeous.

Reading: Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols - it's good so far, but I'm not totally hooked.

Listening to: No One Left To Tell by Karen Rose - it's so good! Exactly what I was looking for.

ETA: no challenges. They're #'s 25 and 26 for the year.

  • I am reading the second Pretty Little Liars book, Flawless.  I think I am also going to pick up Divergent at the library after work and start me re-read before Allegiant comes out in a few weeks.

These are books 75 and 76 for the year.

  • I'm reading The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers.  It's technically a re-read but I haven't read it in 5+ years so some of it feels new to me.

I'm also listening to Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain.  I like it alright so far but I kind of wish it had a bit more substance.  I think they are 42 and 43 for the year.

  • I am currently reading

Days of Fire:  Bush and Cheney in the White House by Peter Baker.  It is really, really well written and I am enjoying it a lot.  I won it from Goodreads.  It is book #65 for the year.

    I am also reading

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stievater.  I am a bit confused and can't quite figure out what the hell is going on just yet.  I am also a bit confused as to whether this is supposed to be like current time or some sort of parallel fantasy/type world.  But it is still early in the book, so I hope things clear up a bit.  It is book #66 for the year.

I just read this last week. At first I wasn't sure about it, but I ended up really liking it.

  • Still working on GoT. Loving it.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • No challenges for me. I'm reading The Search by Nora Roberts. I like it a lot. The main character is a dog trainer and search & rescue volunteer, so the dogs play a major role in the story. <3

SnShne322 I loved the Will Grayson, Will Grayson audiobook. I laughed out loud multiple times.

booneybear It's nowish. Not a fantasy world.

  • I just finished Brava, Valentine last night, so I need something new.  It was the follow up to Very Valentine, and for some reason I completely missed it even though I've read all the rest of Adriana Trigiani's books.  It was a pleasant read and a welcome change from the really dark stuff I had been reading.
