I work for a group doing targeted drug design. Basically, some cancers are associated with viral-infection. This group identified one particular protein that they are specifically designing drugs for. Block the protein, block the viral infection, kill the cancer cells.
It's endlessly more complicated than that, but that's the general idea. I'm also in the midst of finishing an older paper from grad school (also virus/cancer-related) and doing an 8-week grant writing workshop. Go, go, go.

Aw! I love small weddings. My own was only eleven people :-)
