NBR - New England ladies can relate to this

Today I broke down and finally wore a pair of tights.  I have been fighting it and fighting it and have gone bare-legged all through September and told myself that I was going to hold out until at least October 1st to drag out the tights.  (This is a big deal because I always wear dresses and skirts to work).  I have been fortunate that I was able to hold out until October 9 this year.  I HATE having to finally give in.  It is like I finally have to admit that summer is over.  (But on a side note, I still haven't put on a jacket/coat yet).  Maybe I can hold that off until November 1. LOL.

Re: NBR - New England ladies can relate to this

  • It was 41 degrees when I woke up this morning, and usually 50 degrees is my cutoff for flip flops.  I still wore them today.  I'm not ready to give in to real shoes yet.  I have worn pants to work a few times though, including today.  I'd rather wear pants than put on tights.
  • I'm rocking my first pair of tights for the season today too. It's a little sad.

And I always forget how much of a PITA it is to go to the bathroom when you're wearing tights.

  • I mostly wear khakis/dress pants to work, but I did bust out my jacket yesterday. I am a wuss though. I'm always cold.

  • I have finally switched to sneakers from flip flops this week and it makes me so sad.  It is supposed to push 70 on Friday, we've been spoiled so far, it's nice.

This was me last weekend when I finally had to pull out a pair of jeans. I wasn't ready to admit it wasn't capri weather at night anymore. I get it. I don't want to admit I get it- but I do.

  • This kind of weather makes me wish I wore pants to work.  But I only have one pair of dress pants that actually fit me that are office approriate.  I HATE buying pants the way most people hate buying bathing suits.

  • @booneybear Curious if we have a terminology difference --> do you use 'tights' to mean panty hose/nylons, or do you mean a heavier stocking than hose?

  • I had to put a light jacket on Ally this morning because it got below 70 at 7:00 am, haha! It is getting all the way down to 75 for a high tomorrow, and I have an outfit planned that involves boots and a sweater.

@Hoycie, you are high. As much as I love fall leaves and Christmas snow in theory, I will take my year-round summer.

@Hoycie @84lauren I didn't find the day we went to the beach to be all that hot and uncomfortable.  Of course I am the one with a sweater and my space heater on in the office all day every day.

  • I'm from SC. It's 68 degrees here today and breezy. It was 66 yesterday. Looove. I have had my air off and windows open since Monday night. It will get back up to the high 70s this weekend though. Boo.

3 feet!? I am jealous! I get excited when we have more than 3 inches!

I feel like I would love to have that kind of winter every year. Getting snowed in and having a fireplace and reading and drinking hot drinks...but then I realize that in reality you would not be literally snowed in all winter. You would have to go out in it and go to work and such.

    No thank you.

I hate that we have summer year round but I have to admit, it's nice not to have to deal with snow.

  • I'm in Northern California. It's like, between 65 and 85 here pretty much year round. Almost never too hot or too cold. I can drive to the desert or to the snow in under 4 hours. I'll stay here! I'm a weather wimp!

  • I've been wearing pants & boots the last couple days.  I even wore a jacket too.  Sad, but it's wait too cold for my sandals & flip flops.  :((

Solution: come to Arizona where when the weatherman says "humid" it means 35% humidity.
