QOTD 10/10

What would you do if you found a piece of jewelry that was obviously lost? Would you try to return it or keep it? Have you ever had this happen to you?

  • Return it.  I would hope someone would do the same if I lost something.

  • I'm so honest about that kind of thing, I would return it.  I saw a guy sitting on some bleachers once and there was a $20 behind him.  I tapped him on the shoulder and asked if he'd dropped it.  He said that he had so I gave it to him.  DH teased me for it.
  • Return it!

When H first "proposed" we were really young and I didn't get a ring for a few months.  We were at his dorm and H found a diamond ring in the parking lot and bent down to pick it up, when I turned around I thought he was on one knee with my ring, haha.  no such luck.  H turned it in to the front desk at his dorm building.

  • I'd return it for sure.  I lost our camera at the last stop on our cruise and no one returned it.  It sucks so I wouldn't want anyone else to go through that.

  • Return it.  I couldn't live with the guilt.

  • I'd return it because I know what it's like to lose something that means a lot to you. A few years ago, I lost a necklace that DH brought back from Thailand for me. I was SO upset! A few months later, when all the snow finally melted, I found my necklace on the ground outside our apartment building! It was broken and I can't wear it, but just the fact that I found it was enough to make me feel better.

  • I'd return it but that also depends on where it is. A hobby of mine and my dad's is to take a metal detector to the beach or campsite and dig stuff up. We've found all kinds of jewelry, coins and pocketknives.

  • As long as it's somewhere I can attempt to return it, I absolutely will. If it's in the middle of nowhere, maybe not. I'd try my best, though!

  • I would definitely try.  I would hope that if I were the person who lost something, someone would return it.

I was at a concert a few years ago and some guy pushed past my group and dropped his wallet.  I saw him drop it and tried to stop him, but he shooed me.  I think he thought I was complaining that he went in front of our group into the crowd.  I held up his wallet but he didn't see it.  I gave the wallet to security.
  • I lost my diamond pendant that DH got me for the wedding. I was so upset I almost threw up. It totally wasn't my fault, the chain broke. I would definitely not keep the item.
  • Return it!  Years ago, my house was broken into. All the people took were a jar of change and a diamond necklace that was my grandmother's. I'm still heartbroken over it, so I wouldn't want anyone else to be without something that is potentially very special.
