If we carve too early they just rot by Halloween. It's too hot here. I LOVE Halloween. I go all out decorating my house, I make it super scary and get the best candy to hand out to kids.
This year I'm a little slower than normal. Only about half my decorations are up. I normally throw a big pumpkin carving party- that's out this year. I bought the pumpkins but I think we will just have our neighbors over to carve them... maybe next week.
We haven't really carved pumpkins at all since we've been living together or married. I'd like to...we just never get around to doing it. Plus they don't even have trick-or-treat on our street so I kinda feel like it's just a waste to do much fall decorating. Maybe I'll change my mind about that one day.

We get our pumpkins next weekend! We're going with friends to a pick-your-own patch, then having a carving party. I'm excited, it's been years since I've carved a pumpkin!
Not yet but I really want to. I'll probably do it this weekend. I get the itch in early October but try to hold out as long as possible so they last until Halloween.

No :-( we can't carve ours until a day or toe before bc it gets too hot during the day. Two years ago we thought we were being smooth and carved them a week before. They rotted and molded within like three days.

DS got itchy waiting for us so he carved his with my dad on Saturday. The ones I bought for DH and myself are still rolling around in the back of my car.
I saw somewhere that if you soak your pumpkin in bleach water for 2-3 minutes once a week it will help them last longer. Dont know if it really works, But Im going to try it.
Re: Have you carved your pumpkins yet?
We carved them the first weekend in October.
Here's a picture of mine, MIL's, and H's Star Wars one. BIL did a Star Wars one too, but it didn't turn out very well.
