Hello all,
I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post. I was wondering about your experiences on Clomid, the changes or side effects, if any, that you experienced.
My husband and I have been TTC for 17 months. My doctor finally put me on Clomid. I thought I was tolerating it fine, but about 4 dpo it's like a flip was switched. I became erratically emotional. I could feel myself slipping into a mild depression, and had to remind myself that it was just the extra hormones. At 7dpo had what I thought was implantation bleeding; a dark brown spot about a dime size, and spotting only when I wiped. I took a hpt a week later, it was neg. I tried again a week after that and it was still neg. This was also the day that I completely broke down in the middle of the grocery store for no apparent reason. Thank God my husband was with me and was able to corral me out the door quickly. The next day I got my period, but it was VERY abnormal. The blood was dark brown, almost black, and clotted. I had severe cramping on the 3rd day and a half, but the period was not heavier than usual. My periods are usually brief, about 3-4 days of constant to light flow, but this one seemed shorter, as it stared off very light for 2 days, only seeing anything when I wiped and not even needing a panty liner, followed by 1 day of heavy flow, then it went back to light. Also my breast were sore for about a week and a half before my period, but my periods over and they're still sore. Did another hpt just to be sure, and it was still neg. Emotions have stabilized for now, but round 2 starts tomorrow.
I guess I just want to know if any of you have experienced anything like this, and if I should be concerned, or seeking new treatment, or just being a wuss. Thanks!!

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.
You really should be monitored while on Clomid (ultrasounds, bloodwork etc.) If you have what I have then you would be taking that stuff for no reason. Your age and health don't always have a correlation with your fertility. In your complete work up did they test your AMH, FSH, AFC and hormone levels?
It's very important you be fully monitored when taking it. It's also vital that you at the very least had an HSG done beforehand to make sure all your tubes are clear. Did your H have an SA?
Sorry for veering somewhat off topic. I just don't want to see a woman go through rounds of medication without having the groundwork testing done beforehand. GL!!

People have given you good advice, but you seem to just be making excuses for your own ignorance.
However many "scums of the earth" get pregnant has nothing to do with your own fertility. You suck.
1. Please please please do not continue with Clomid if you haven't had testing done. You at least need bloodwork, an HSG, and a SA for your DH. If, God forbid, your tubes are blocked like mine, all the Clomid in the world won't help.
2. Clomid without monitoring is crazy. Seriously. While you could be fine, you could also overstimulate or not respond at all. You have NO idea what's going on in your body without monitoring and, quite frankly, it's dangerous.
3. I'd seriously side eye any doc that not only gives you one but two rounds of Clomid without doing ANY testing. If you've been TTC for 17 months, I'd recommend going to an RE at this point. Infertility is their specialty and they are better prepared to help.
Good luck to you though! I hope your time comes soon!

I really do hope you take the info given to you and talk to your doctor. It is dangerous to take that drug unmonitored.
