Re: Wacky Wednesday poll

  • 1. DD is dressing up as a monkey.  DH and I are not dressing up at all.

    2. Favorite costume ever will require some more thought.  My favorite that DH and I ever did was Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky (back in the day, obviously)

    3. We are not the toothpaste house, but we also haven't bought our candy yet, so I'm not sure what we'll get.  I like to get Baby Ruths at Halloween because I think a whole one is too much, but the fun size one are amazing and Halloween is the only time I ever have them.

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?
I'm dressing up as Hulk Hogan for my gym's Halloween workout on Friday, but aside from that we have no plans to do anything or dress up.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
When I went as Mia Wallace. That was fun.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
We live in a gated complex. Not really a place people trick or treat.

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? We have a Wizard of Oz theme this year. Ashlee is Glinda, Madison Dorothy and I am the wicked witch. We are trying to get DH to be the tin man or something.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
I loved the family HP theme a few years ago. But I think one of my favs was DH and I going as Popeye and Olive Oil. They were great costumes!

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
I give out an assortmant of candy. Each kid usually get 4-5 pieces. We do Junipr mints, M&M's, Skittles, Kit Kats- stuff like that. I do also give out a couple of books for All Hallows Eve to a few kids int he neighborhood I know will appreciate it.

  • We've got a Dorothy Gale and possibly a munchkin or Scarecrow. No costumes for adults or the dog.

My favorite costume was completely scandalous. A leotarded devil in fishnets that I wore out to the bar in college. It was awesome and I'm glad I had the guts to do it once.

Childhood, I remember being little red riding hood in a legit red wool cape and hat with a wooden basket.

I'm getting zero candy since we're not planning to be home but I will probably get two little books for our neighbor girls for All Hallows' Read. :)

    1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? I'm not dressing up. Liam is going to be Popeye :)

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) I dressed up as Cruella DeVil one year. That was fun!

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) We won't be home. Hopefully we won't get egged.

  • 1.  We don't dress up, and the dog won't let me put a costume on him.

    2.  I went to a Halloween party in a Star Trek uniform one year.  We then hit the bars.  I have never been more hit on (granted, by nerds, but hey!).

    3. We don't know yet.  Both of us are dieting, so we don't want candy in the house.  In years past I've given away Play-doh, which was a hit.  DH also suggested getting light up necklaces to hand out.

  • Halloween is next week! 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? Not dressing up and SO HATES Halloween.  :(

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) My favorite was when I was the oil change girl.  It was my most daring costume ever.  I wish I still had the body and balls to pull it off.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) Twix and peanut butter cups.

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? We aren't dressing up this year.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) One year I dressed up as Princess Jasmine, who I loved as a kid.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) We have a handful of caramel apple suckers, on the small chance we get any trick-or-treaters.

    2. Hmmm...I think I'm gonna go with the year DH and I were Santa and the Tooth Fairy.

    3. I think I'm going to go all Pinterest and make a pumpkin with suckers sticking out of it.

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?  I don't think DH and I are dressing up. I usually wear a Halloween shirt, or some kind of Halloween headband or something, but I don't think we're legitimately dressing up.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? Hm. This wasn't with DH but an ex and I went as Mario and Princess Peach one year. It was too cute.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) Not totally sure yet. I want to create little goody bags, but if I'm going to do that I need to get on that pretty soon.

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?  I will be the crazy cat lady (oh wait....I do that every day).

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)  My sister used to have a huge halloween party in her old barn every year and she had a couple of friends that dressed up as the "Nightmare before Christmas" couple (the guy even had stilts) They were so spot on and perfect with their costumes.
Also my brother in law once totally bleached his hair (it is normally dark dark brown) and went as Eminem one year (he had a hell of a time explaining his hair the next day at his office job).

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)  I still need to find out what day and time trick or treat is and purchase my candy.  But I will be giving out full size Hershey, 100 Grands, Butterfingers, snickers, Milky way, Baby Ruth, Crunch, M&Ms, Kit Kats, Twix, and Reeses.

  • I still need to find out what day and time trick or treat is and purchase my candy.
This is the weirdest thing to me, to have scheduled Halloween.  In my neck of the woods, trick or treating is and always has been as soon as it's getting dark out, on Halloween night.  Why would it ever be any other day or time?!
  • 1) My department at work always does a themed costume. This year we are HR Zombies. Think lots of paper cuts, maybe a stapler in the head.

    2) We went as Disney villains once. I was Cruella. I had a purse full of puppies.

    3) No children ever come to our house. It makes me sad.

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? DS is going to be a lion.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) Hmm.. Last year I was Juno, which was fun. I always loved my costumes when I was little too.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) Not sure. We're taking DS trick-or-treating at my parent's house, and then he'll be going to bed when we get back (by 7), so we'll most likely have our lights turned off so the doorbell doesn't wake him up. We usually only get the girls from across the street anyways. Our side of the street doesn't have a sidewalk.

    Books Read in 2014: 10

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?
I have until Saturday to decide on a costume and buy it and I have no time to buy it and not a lot of money to spend. I'm doomed to be that person at the party who didn't dress up. DH is going as Bobby from Supernatural (TV show). He's been growing the beard and just had a few things to buy.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
My favorite ever was me dressed as a football player. Because it was  hilarious. I'm naturally short/petite so I looked like someone's child home from practice haha.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
We don't get many trick or treaters so if we don't go to MIL's to give out candy we'll give out Reese's pumpkins so we can eat the leftovers. If we go to MIL's, she'll be giving out everything she could possibly buy because she gets nearly 100 kids each year. It depends on whether or not our kitten gets spayed that day or not.

  • 1. I'm not dressing up and my kid hasn't made up her mind what she's going to wear yet. Queen of Hearts is in first place.

    2. I've never really had a costume I was super into, but I loved when the princess dressed up as Batgirl a few years ago. And Daphne from Scooby Doo was one of my faves as well.

    3. Not passing out candy. My apartment building is faced away from the street so we never really get trick or treaters anyway.

  • 1) The kids are dressing up as Woody and Jessie from Toy Story.  So cute!

    2) My favorite costume is a punk rocker when I was 7 or 8.  I got to put purple spray stuff in my hair.

    3) We probably are going to leave our light off because we are going to be out with the kids.  Before you flame me, I think I've earned it because I've given out candy every year that we've lived at our house prior to last year!  That's 6 years of candy!

  • Halloween is next week! 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?  I'm not sure I'm dressing up this year. My default costume is to put garb on. I'll probably be hanging out at my friend's house. His costume this year involves a pumpkin head. :)
    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) I made a pretty cute black cat in junior high. I also went as Fiona the year that my ex made a mardi gras style shrek.
    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) What ever assortment my friend has. I never stay home to pass out candy. We don't get trick or treaters. :(

I hope pics will be posted of all these awesome sounding costumes.

    1) I'm not dressing up this year, nor is MH. I am, however having a pajama party and movie night w/ my BFFs this Saturday instead of a Halloween party. So, if "lazy 20-something in her jammies" is a costume, then that's what I'm being. Adelaide is going to be a mouse.

    2) My Mom used to spend a ton of time making and putting together my costume every year. I had some great ones. My faves were probably Juliet in grade 7 and or the year I went as The Phantom of the Opera. My hippie costume was pretty awesome too. Too bad it was like minus 50 and I had to wear my snowsuit under it to go trick-or-treating. I looked like a really fat hippie.

    3) Probably nothing.  We'll be out and about with Adelaide. If we do hand out something it will be chocolate of some kind so I can have the leftovers.

  • 1.  My daughter is going to be Marie Antoinette.   She is obsessed with the woman.  She has the big light blue dress with panniers and a white wig.  She also wants a faux slash across her throat.

She has decided my husband will be Danny Zuko.   I will not be dressing up.

    2.  I don't really have a favourite costume.  If I REALLY have to dress up for some reason, I always just throw on some old ballet clothes.  People always like my pointe shoes.

    3.  Chocolate bars.  Definitely.

    K is a bunny
DH & I are not getting dressed up.

I think this years's K's costume is my favorite! The close second is when we dressed up A&A as catterpillars for Halloween when they were 1 month old. It was adorable, and they slept through the whole thing.

I will need to buy either Hershey's Kisses or M&Ms. I always buy something I like in case we have leftovers!

  • Halloween is next week! 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? 2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) 3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)

    1. DS is going to be Spiderman. I really, really wanted him to be Draco Malfoy this year, but no dice. He's only 2 1/2 so he hasn't seen Harry Potter yet. One of these years, he will be Draco. His blonde hair is perfect for Draco, IMO.

    2. I think my favorite was when I was pregnant and dressed up as a trashy hillbilly type. I wore my hair up in a bandana, a red push-up bra under my white wife-beater style tank, ripped up jeans that were rolled up with leopard print heels. I put fake tattoos all over. We went to a costume contest and I carried around an unopened PBR and put a pack of cigarettes in my bra. All while about 6 months pregnant. It was the most fun I ever had dressing up. AW: I won 2nd place.

    3. We live in the country and won't have a trick-or-treaters. :(

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all? DD is going to be a cow.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) My mom made me a really awesome princess costume when I was in the 1st grade.  I LOVED that thing.

    3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) We aren't going to pass out candy this year.  Our dog barks like a maniac whenever someone knocks on the door and I don't want him waking up DD.

    3. I'm not sure yet.  I plan to go to the store this weekend.  And no, not toothpaste.  :)

  • 1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?   I'm most likely not dressing up. We're just staying home, handing out candy and watching a movie. But H usually dressing up to hand out the candy. Not sure which costume he'll use this year. Our dog will be wearing Yoda ears, much to her dismay.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? My brother's GF dressed up like a loofah last year, and she made the costume herself, so bonus points there.

    3) What are you passing out? Twizzlers, Three Muskateers and Twix.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) One year my brother, his friends, and I dressed up as Final Fantasy (can't remember which one) characters.  I got to dye my hair green for the night.  It was awesome.

    2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) In 3rd grade I went as Laura Ingalls Wilder. Nobody knew who I was but I still loved it. Looking back I was more pioneer child but don't try to tell that to 8 year old me.
