Re: 3T Check In

  • Not much to update on. Still need to look into REs (good God, where do I start?!) and talk to DH about seeing a urologist.

TMI: Holy EWCM today!! It's rather ridiculous. And also really early for me to be getting it. Maybe we'll BIO tonight just in case. Never know...one of DH's good swimmers could make it!

QOTW: If you want me to do it, I will. I'll be sitting at my desk all day anyway. Shouldn't be a big deal to hop over and post this. :)

  • No real update, just waiting.  D&C was a week ago and we're allowed to start an FET cycle with my next period, so now it's just a waiting game to see when AF will show.  I've read it could be early or could be extra late.  Guess we'll see.  I took my thermometer out a few days ago, thinking it could be a good idea to temp this cycle, but I keep forgetting to actually take my temperature.  I'm so out of practice!

My head is also spinning over insurance matters.  I know we're super fortunate to have even one plan available to us that pays some for IVF, let alone several, but deciding what to do during open enrollment is maddening.  Our current insurance will pay for 3 attempts per live birth.  We've used 2 so far.  I think we've decided to roll the dice and stay with this insurance (it's the one that pays the most) and hope attempt #3 is successful.  If not, we'll be out of luck for the rest of next year until open enrollment when we can switch to another plan.  Fortunately, we've got 7 frosties, so if this attempt doesn't work, we'll only be paying for FETs.  Still $$$, but not nearly as much as a fresh cycle.

@luckyangel07 I have a friend that lives in philly and saw two different RE's and did end up getting pregnant through IVF. would you like me to ask her who she saw?
  • @LooneyLife, good luck with the open enrollment decisions! It sounds like you've just about got it figure out, so that's good. I'm glad you've got options, but I get that it can be hard to choose!

Also, GL with the next cycle. I really hope AF shows soon and doesn't keep you waiting any longer.

  • I think everyone already read my update on moving forward with IUI/Clomid w/trigger. SO there's that.

FFC- I feel like I've already given up.  It may not be true, I know how crazy I get right around the time AF is supposed to show, but this feels deeper.  Who knows, maybe it's a short term thing.  I have NOT mentioned any of this to DH.

  • Update: I am spotting. Shit's about to get real. I FINALLY have our insurance ID number, so I called to give all that info to the new place. They should be calling me tomorrow or early next week with my benefits (thank you, MA, for covering IVF!). I had my third acu appointment today. I'm really enjoying the half hour I get to just relax. I actually fell asleep today.

And ohmyfreakinggoodness, I am starting Lupron in approximately less than a month (well, see my FFQ). BFP, please be my Christmas present!

FFQ: Okay, so I have a noob question. I feel so dumb for asking this, but I'm extra paranoid because it's the entrance ramp to IVF. I had light spotting all day. It was yellowish brown. I wore a pantyliner, but it wasn't full when I got home to change it. Not CD 1, right? My old RE said, "When you need to use a pad or a tampon, that's CD 1." I am so embarrassed that I have to ask this, but my anxiety (some nerves, some excitement) is sky high.

  • Poppies I always have a lot of spotting that confused me as well. The way that it was explained to me red blood equals cycle day one even light to begin with. All Iui cycles and my ivf cycle I had light brown, Dark brown or pink spotting for a couple days and red that barely needed a tampon and then heavy flow and the light red was day one the heavy flow is day two. Does that help?

Amanda, I'm glad you're enjoying the break :)

  • I have a new trainer that I started with tonight.  We did a fitness assessment that I haven't done with either of the other two trainers I worked with. I am kinda sad I can't see the difference from February until now.  But we signed up for another year of training sessions, so I am (I AM!!) going to kick ass and not be this fat next year.  I think the new trainer will be a good fit. He's got big, buff muscles...so I'll take it!  Jimothy and I are going out on a double date with my old trainer and his wife tomorrow night! :)

I need to lose 10 pounds before we can do IVF again.  Because I gained it back. WEEEEE!

  • I've got 3 days left of provera and then I'm just waiting for CD1 to call and set up all of my testing that'll take place in the next two weeks.  On the agenda is a baseline ultrasound and tons of bloodwork, HSG, and saline sono...fun stuff.

  • Remember how my RE and I decided that it'd be a great idea to take a few months off and reconnect after the holidays? Yeah, I'm over it. The break is awesome, admittedly, but I feel like we are just waiting. And not for any great reason. It's just prolonging whatever our future is. Ugh. At the same time, I'm not excited to go through everything again, so maybe I should just enjoy alcohol, no butt muscle injections, no psycho hormones, etc.

I think I've never really let IF upset me before. I always believed that it was just a matter of time. I grieved the loss of our baby, but didn't grieve the hope of a future because our loss had proved to me that we would have a healthy pregnancy in a matter of time. IF has recently changed in my head, become more real.

I just want to move forward, however it is going to happen, but we are waiting. I'm debating whether to push ahead and get going again.... But damn, this break is nice.

So I just rambled. Sorry. :)

@amccul20, yes please! That would be fantastic!! I hope they're located near my office!
@rockabye, yay for Oing!! FX your body keeps its shit together!
@dangermuffin23, I think that's a perfectly normal way to feel at some point (or multiple times). IF is a daunting prospect, and sometimes it's just easier to not even think about going through it. I hope your mind eases.
@poppies717, GL!! Hope AF shows today/tomorrow and you can get on your way to starting this cycle's protocol!
@amandaf6383, I'm so glad you're enjoying the break! Breathers can be so refreshing.
@aimothy, GL with the new trainer, and I hope he kicks your butt! You will lose that 10 lbs in no time!
@iloveredvino, I can imagine your feelings of being over waiting to try again, since we're sort of on a break too. I hate waiting; I'd rather just plunge ahead and say to hell with next year's vacations. So ramble away if it helps you figure out where you are and what you want to do! We're here to listen to all the rambling.
