Has anyone ever heard of or had the amazing popcorn ball?

TTC since 1/13  DX:PCOS 5/13 (long, anovulatory cycles)
Clomid 50mg 9/13 = BFP! EDD 6/7/14 M/C 5w6d Found 11/4/13
1/14 PCOS / Gluten Free Diet to hopefully regulate my system.

    I've heard of them. I want to eat them. But I've never had them. Aren't they just like rice crispy treats but popcorn instead?

    @islandmonkey8 Pretty much. I've been trying to find a good recipe for them, but they're always too hard when I make them. It makes me sad, because they're by far my favorite Halloween treat.

    I made this for Valentine's Day earlier this year. 


    It was nice and gooey at first, but firmed up fairly quickly. Pulling hunks of marshmallowy popcorn out of the bowl over the next couple of days was still possible though. 

    Would popcorn balls be similar?

    I've had these, but at Christmas when I was a kid. My grandmother used to buy the packaged ones and hang them on the tree....yum.

    @luckyangel07 Popcorn balls would be similar to that. That recipe is different than the one I've tried, so I may have to give it a shot.

    Heard of? Yes. Actually had? No.  But don't go by me for what's normal; I never even had a Cadbury egg until about two years ago lol.

    I'm generally not a fan of popcorn balls.  Are these different than normal popcorn balls?

    I will only eat popcorn balls when they are not in the shape of a ball. I will sit on them, smoosh them with my books, do whatever it takes to break it into smaller pieces (i before e, except after c..).

    So in general, I feel they take more effort than they are worth.

    After 2 years of TTC, lots of tests, and a Hysteroscopy/Laparoscopy to remove several polyps,
    Clomid/IUI #1 3/14: cancelled due to surprise BFP 3/8/14.
    Beta 1 3/11: 398  Beta 2 3/13: 728  Beta 3 3/20: 11,482 
    Surprise BFP turns into Surprise Twins! 

    Zoey and Garrett born 10/24/14 at 36+3

    @zamboni00 They're typical popcorn balls, but they were always handed out during Trick or Treat around here.  Now that I'm too old to Trick or Treat, I miss out. So I'm trying to find a recipe to make them, but have yet to find a decent one.

    I was just telling DH the other day that I missed Trick or Treating, because I don't get popcorn balls anymore!

    Endometrial Biopsy 3/21/14 - Hyperplasia still present  Endometrial Biopsy #2 6/24/14 - All clear!
    IUI #1  w/stims and trigger - Started stims 7/7/14 - IUI 7/24/14 = BFP 8/7/14
    Beta #1 8/8 - 47  Beta#2 -137  Beta#3 - 96 Beta#4 -287 Beta#5 -519 Beta#6 121 = early miscarriage 5w4d

    Ok, are we talking the big ones? I've never had one. But I could down a bag of those dang Cadbury mini eggs that come out at Easter. Get. In. Mah. Belleh. They were as good as gold in my house growing up!
