Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

How do you like it do far? Is it for any of the challenges or just fun?

November already?! Anything in particular that you're looking forward to this month?

Re: Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

  • I'm reading Halloween Jack and the Devil's Gate. I'm not sure what I think of it yet. No challenges and I already met my goal.

I'm looking forward to Thor and Catching Fire. Also, on Black Friday my mom and I are going to our outlet stores (but not until 10 am).

  • I'm still reading Allegiant. I had some library items that needed to be finished before I could give it my full attention. I should finish it this weekend.

I'm also reading BDB#2 and enjoying it so far.

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday of the year. My husband has the day off but all of his employees have to go in so we make them a full Thanksgiving dinner and bring it to them to thank them for all the work they do and for having to be away from their families on that day.

  • I'm reading the new Nora Roberts, which is good so far.  I'm listening to Bertie Plays the Blues, which is from the always enjoyable Alexander McCall Smith.

    I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving!

  • The Abominable by Dan Simmons.  I just barely started but I haven't read a Dan Simmons book yet that I haven't loved, so I am sure this one will be no exception.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stietvater.  I just started this one this morning at the gym.  I hope it is a bit less confusing than The Raven Boys was.  But I am looking forward to learning more about Ronan (hubba hubba).

and I am still very slowly making my way through Last Call: the Rise and Fall of Prohibition by Daniel Okrent.

I can't say that there is much I am looking forward to this month.

I am most looking forward to the trip my H and I are taking to visit his family in Florida over Thanksgiving. I enjoy getting together with most of them and am looking forward to seeing how much our nieces have grown since we last saw them over a year ago.

I love that it's getting colder, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, it's almost Christmas, and I'm going Black Friday shopping for the first time! Gotta get lots of toys this year!!

I was planning to start If I Stay, but I haven't actually been able to bring myself to do it yet, so it's sitting on my bedside table. Hopefully I'll pluck up the courage soon.

I'm also just finishing up listening to A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Spark. It's okay.

  • I'm reading:

    Allegiant - Veronica Roth

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle - David Wroblewski

Some of my Best Friends are Black: The Strange Story of Integration in America - Tanner Colby

Edgar and the Colby book are slow for me but I'm really enjoying them.  I'm only on page 40 of Allegiant but I feel like there's already too many names.

For November, I'm looking forward to NaNoWriMo, the Lions game on Thanksgiving, and my HP marathon tomorrow.

    it' 39/30 for the year.

I'm sorta looking forward to Thanksgiving :^o  It's always my favorite holiday and it's usually at my mom's house, this year my SIL asked if she could host it, I just hope she doesn't mess too much with our traditional foods (there better be sausage in that stuffing dammit!)

I have nothing started right now.  Finished The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks last night.  I think I'm going to pick up Sycamore Row by John Grisham and start listening to Deadline by Sandra Brown.

They will be 90 and 91 for the year.

I should be looking forward to Thanksgiving.  I'm not though because of the drama my MIL and SIL cause.  Boo to them for zapping the holiday spirit out of this time of year.

Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us, by Michael Moss.  I've put aside my Robert Jordan book because I was on the e-book waiting list forever for this and Inferno (which I finished yesterday) and the Jordan can be easily renewed.

Edit: I'm looking forward to my DC trip next week.  I'll be interviewing a 93 year old woman who was a member of the WASP during WWII.  I'm also looking forward to the weather getting colder and being able to wear my sweaters and boots, and also to Thanksgiving, which is a nice, non-commercial holiday.

Reading Me Before You - it's wonderful.

Listening to Incarceron - pretty cool so far, but reading would probably be better than listening.  Each chapter starts with a little intro passage and I get all confused thinking that intro is part of the story.  In book form, it would probably be obvious because the intro would be tabbed or in italics or something.

I just need to edit because I just finished Me Before You and I no longer think it is wonderful. I did not like it after all.

I'm more than halfway through Life After Life and I really am enjoying it. Kind of sad but I still want to know what happens.

Reading The Golem and the Jinni and it's getting really good!

Just began Sabriel, by Garth Nix. I'm enjoying it more than Seven Realms so far but it's early.

November is my birthday month and I love Thanksgiving. My Grandma is holding it again this year and she hasn't met my youngest yet. :) I'm also hoping my cousin will bring his new girlfriend because I'm nosy about their cute Facebook pictures.

  • I'm reading The Fiery Cross.  I'm about 150 pages into it and I think that in the story about a day has passed.  But I'm getting though it faster than I expected to.  I love these characters.

This morning, I finished listening to The Demon King.  I think 3 stars because it took me some time to get into, and I was sort of disappointed with the ending.  I know it's a series, but I think series books should be able to stand alone and this was totally anti-climactic.  I'm definitely going to keep going with this series, though.

I'm picking up The Shining on audio this afternoon.

TDK was number 25 for the year.  No challenges and no goal, though.
  • I'm reading Neverwhere and to be honest, I'm not really liking it.  I feel like I'm missing something.  I can't figure out what is going on.  It's #53 for the year.

I'm looking forward to my birthday this month.  I have the day off of work and I am eating out for every single meal.  No cooking or cleaning for a whole day!!!

  • I am reading Meet Me in Venice by Elizabeth Adler and Allegiant right now. I am really enjoying both of them and have a hard time deciding which one to pick up when I have a few minutes to read.

This month I am looking forward to our son's 13th birthday on the 17th!  I don't know where the time has gone and can't believe I'm going to be a mom of a teenager soon! Also, looking forward to finishing school for this term at the end of the month.

November is my least favorite month so I'm looking forward to it being over.

  • I'm reading BDB #5 still. I always forget how long these books are and that they'll definitely take more than the few days I allot to them. Hoping to finish it today or tomorrow so I can move on since I have 2 library books due next Friday I need to get through or go back to the bottom of the hold list.

Currently reading the new Bridget Jones book. It's okay. Heard notso great things but trying to keep an open mind.

This weekend is my son's 19th bday and he is getting his first tattoo tomorrow. Sunday we are celebrating at Farrells Ice Cream Palor. I think they were nationwide but closed in the 80s/90s. Fond childhood memories of going there and excited to have them back to share with my kiddos.

Eta: also looking forward to the possiblity of taking the girls to their first Sharks game. DH keeps telling me they are going to be bored which makes me very stabby! Granted his opinion shouldn't mean much since he whines and complains about practically everything but praises after the fact. I wish he would just STFU.

  • I'm reading Bold Tricks by Karina Halle. It's the final book in the series. I'm enjoying it so far. It is #85 for the year.

  • I am reading Island Girls by Nancy Thayer. It's a fun, light read. It's 108 for the year.

I am also reading, rather slowly, Lover at Last because I am just not ready to be done with the Black Dagger Brotherhood. So that might be 109 for the year...we shall see!

  • I'm about 24% through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am enjoying it but sad because I know my reread is almost over. It's #34/35 for the year, so I'll be upping my goal to 40.

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and Black Friday! :)

  • I am re-reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  I'll finish it by tonight, and hopefully get to Deathly Hallows to finish up the series re-read by the end of the weekend.
Then I can finally get to Seraphina!

I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving.  I love this time of year!!! And I'm looking forward to crafting an ornament for the craft exchange, even if I end up the only one sending one out (though I hope no one flakes out).
I can't wait to decorate after Thanksgiving!  On Thanksgiving night my husband and I put together Winter Village sets from Lego.  I love that.
Ok, so I'm looking forward to a lot.
