So on Saturday we had both sets of parents over for dinner. I told DH it was his job to start the conversation about our issues because I was too nervous. We made it all the way through dinner and DH didn't say a word about it. I gave him "the look", I'm sure you all have one. Telling DH to get on with it. Then my mom got up and started cleaning up. Then when she came back, my dad got up and went outside to smoke a cigar and play with our dog.
DH and I were getting frustrated. We decided to start a fire in our fire pit and we all sat around it bullshiting. Finally, there was a lull in conversation and DH told them. I think he started it well so that they didn't think what we were saying was good news. He just said, "So there is something we wanted to talk to you guys about..." and then told them what was going on.
They were all really good. They sat and listened as DH and I explained what was going on and where we were at. DH told them that I have an appointment tomorrow to figure out what the next steps are. Both sets of parents were very sympathetic. They were even great at saying that they were sorry we are going through this, but they have no idea what it is like. Both of our mothers have had miscarriages, but not the problems we have been having.
My mom asked if I wanted her to come with me to my appointment tomorrow. I thanked her and said no. If DH can't get out of work, I'll just go by myself. I don't want someone else to know what is going on before DH.
So, we're out. We asked them not to spread the word. We explained that the reason we were telling them is because we needed them to understand the stress we've been under. Why we've been so on and off lately.
I really don't think I could have expected it to go any better.
On another note, I'm super nervous for tomorrow. I'm trying not to be but I am. We're going to be discussing injects with my RE. I mentioned femara on the phone to my doctor and he said we'd discuss it, but most likely injects would be next. I just hope DH can go tomorrow so he can listen and ask questions with me.
Are there any specific questions you ladies think I should ask tomorrow? Or just go with the flow with my RE.
Thanks for reading this giant post!

I really hope your appt goes well and the dr listens to you in wanting to try the Femara.
B/w 1/8: betas 17,345, progesterone 25.6
Good luck at the RE. If you really want to try Femera discuss it with the doctor. Maybe he has a good reason for not wanting to try it but you need to at least ask about it. Similar to @sparklingdiamond we weren't quite ready to move to injects and so we pushed to try Femera first.
Cycle 8,9,10 - 50mg Clomid - BFN
I went straight to injects (menopur) with my cycles and I don't regret it(obviously)! It really isn't terrible but only daunting the first night. I am happy to answer any questions.
I would just make sure to ask questions re: monitoring and ultrasounds as it is a big and time consuming process.
I would also ask about how the office handled insurance approval and ordering of meds. It can become a sticky and frustrating mess if a specific timeline is not in place.
Good Luck!

And GOOD LUCK tomorrow!
By the way, I'm a big fan of Femara. I am biased bc it worked for me, but it also didn't make me feel like crap the way that other meds did.
