Nothing much is tmi for me, but here is the requisite tmi warning for anyone who needs it.
I woke up this morning with a lot of blood-tinged discharge. I'm pretty sure I passed my mucous plug. I know it can regenerate but 30 weeks seems early for that. I called my ob's office since they told me that if I ever had bleeding to come in and call on the way. I wasn't sure if this counted since it wasn't just straight blood. The nurse asked me if I was cramping (no) and just told me that the plug can have blood in it, and if I wanted to come in I could. I told her this didn't seem normal so I wanted to come in. I think she thought I was overreacting.
It turns out I am 1-2 cm dilated and baby a is very low. The OB sent me over to the hospital because she was concerned that I was contracting but didn't know it. Turns out I was contracting about every 5-6 minutes. I got my first steroid shot along with terbutaline to stop the contractions, which worked very well. Babies did well on their NSTs. They are keeping me overnight simply because I couldn't tell I was contracting and the OB is afraid I will contract at home and not know it. I need the second steroid shot tomorrow anyway. So here I am. I hope I can go home tomorrow but am now overly sensitive to anything going on in my uterus, wondering if it's a contraction. Gah.
I gave the babies a talking-to about their behavior, but maybe it's my uterus that needs to be reprimanded.

fx they stay put a while longer.

def better to be in the hospital and get monitored than have stuff goning on at home and not know about it!
and thank goodness for those steroid shots.
and way to follow your intuition. you knew something didn't seem right and this whole situation could be a lot more serious if you didn't get monitored or the shots!
