  • I'm glad someone else is planning a disney trip at the same time too! Haha I'm avoiding some stuff too! I just booked flights for Jared and me! Alaska Airlines is having a good sale right now. I got round trip tickets from Seattle to SNA (Orange County) for $315.60 Total! Yay!

  • I feel like I've become a semi-pro at looking a flights with Jared and I doing long distance haha

  • Either Grand Rapids or Detroit. Grand Rapids is closer (literally ten minutes from my apartment) but Detroit does more direct nonstop flights which is what I would prefer. We have a few people who said they would drive us down and pick us up so we wouldn't have to leave our car there. We are flying into Orlando International. = )

  • MCO - "Mickey's Cooperate Office" haha. Love it :) I just googled where the best place to fly into was. And what dates are you leaving? And what time of the day would you prefer?

  • That is fabulous haha.

Leave May 4, depart May 11.

I would love to fly into Orlando by 3-4pm. We have a reservation at CA Grill at 7:45.

Fly out of Orlando as late as possible, but I know that probably won't be the case. Check out time is 11am.

Thanks so much by the way. I really appreciate it!

  • Okay, so I'm starting out by looking at direct, no stop flights only :)

Flying out of grand rapids (GRR), I found one direct flight to MCO (yay!).

    Sunday May 4:
GRR 3:05PM --> MCO 5:45PM, total fly time: 2 hr and 40 min. $144 per person.

Flying back, the ONLY direct flight that I see from MCO to GRR is:

    Sunday May 11:
MCO 12:00PM --> GRR 2:35PM, total fly time: 2 hr and 35 min. $144 per person

so $288 per person round trip x 2 = $576 total for both of you

    ______________________________________________________________________________
For direct flights from Detroit (DTW):

    Sunday May 4:
    DTW 8:43AM --> MCO 11:16AM, total fly time: 2h 33m: $103 per person

    Sunday May 11:
    MCO 6:26PM --> DTW 9:07PM, total fly time: 2h 41m: $103 per person

So $206 per person round trip x 2 = $428 total for both

Just depends on where you want to fly out of and what times :)

  • those aren't bad actually. I like the second one out of a Detroit better. I'd rather not cut the flight close to Orlando and miss my dinner at CA Grill.

Thanks! I'll talk to T and hopefully in a few weeks we can book these since we have some extra cash the next few weeks!! SO PUMPED.

Stupid question number one: how would I go about booking these ?

  • So www.kayak.com allows you to search through all of the airlines at the same time, I usually start there to see ticket prices. But the one airlines they don't include is Southwest, which usually has really inexpensive prices.

The first option I sent you was through www.southwest.com and the second flight option was through Spirit airlines so www.spirit.com. I usually search for prices through www.kayak.com then book through the main airlines website :) I basically live on www.kayak.com because it searches bascially all of airlines at the same time. It's pretty fun ;)

  • Gotcha. Thanks for the info! = ) that's really the last big thing I had to do.

  • Of course! I used to never fly anywhere. Up until I was 21, I had only been on an airplane twice, and each time I was young and my parents made all the arrangements. Since getting married, I have probably flown at least 8 times, and have booked several flights for thanksgiving break, winter break, disneyland, etc, so I feel like a pro by now haha. The more flights you book, the more times you fly, the easier it gets :)

  • Lol. I look forward to flying more. My parents always drove everywhere. I'm nervous about navigating an airport though lol.

  • I still get anxious about that :) well, I get anxious about anything that I possibly could have no control over haha. Jared thinks I'm crazy about making him get to the airport at least 2 hours before every flight haha

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    image

  • that's what I will probably make T do too. Better safe than sorry!

  • So I've booked a hotel and flights. That's basically it besides tickets, right? which I'm not worried about :) Not like they sell out or I have to decide which ones to get haha.

  • For Disneyland, I believe so. Disneyland seems much less complicated than WDW lol. There are SO MANY THINGS to consider with WDW.

  • I know! I mean, I have the option to book dining options, which I may do just because Jared is so stinkin' excited about the trip haha. Those just definitely add onto the overall price of the trip >.<
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • = ) We choose the dinning plan. It's not the greatest deal BUT I love not having to worry about anything. And some of the things I am most excited for are some of our meals! Where would you dine at? = )

  • A classmate pointed out I haven't made chocolate cookies yet. So I'm going with the classics :)

  • They all sound so amazing! I'm a sucker for character meals though. four out of our six table service meals are character meals. Disney brings out the five year old in me.

  • The dining plan is expensive, but it is cheaper than if you would buy everything they give you by themselves.
