Re: Thursday Randoms
The girl next to me on the train this morning was reading Outlander.
You can already guess where this is going...
I told her it was a great book and she responded that it was her third time reading it. She then asked if I had read the rest of the series and I responded that I had all of them in hardcover and have read several times. I must have looked at her funny when she asked that or seemed too enthusiastic because the conversation ended shortly after. Oh well.
Which brings me to my next story...
@elistar @84lauren @jackiback There was a guy reading WMF on the train yesterday and I was so tempted to start a conversation with him. I got close then realized he smelled like he didn't shower that morning. So yeah...that didn't happen.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Riding the train does have its perks that I am not sitting in traffic and I can sleep/read but honestly, I'd rather have a job closer to home so I can sleep in my bed instead. Also, people annoy the crap out of me more and more. Talking loudly on your cell phone-dirty looks, snoring-oh hell no I just want to smack you, super loud music/movie-rude and getting off the train and texting/emailing, chances are I'm going to bump into you or say something as I speed walk past you. Also, the guy who usually sits next to me everyday is starting to get a little creepy when he mentions seeing me eat something while waiting in the station for the train; I've started sitting in a different train car.
Also, while I'm totally onboard for the changes, lately when I look at myself in the mirror without a shirt on (which is rare), my body is starting to look unrecognizable. It kind of weirds me out.

Yep! They're sooo good.
Seriously, I feel the same way. I love not having to drive but public transit just confirms my general dislike of most people. We have a girl who gets on every morning, who I think must have showered as she's always soaking wet, but who I assume hasn't washed anything she owns in the last six months. I'm nauseous at least a few times a week on the way to work. My absolute favorites though (sarcasm font!) are the wannabe rappers. Yo, you suck and I can't leave. Just stop already.
Also, it took me entirely too long to figure out what a TimBit was. And the only reason I figured it out is because of HIMYM, lol. I'd never even heard of it before that.

@JenE if a little enthusiasm scared her away, she is not the fan you thought she was. Oh well.
And I will be totally honest - the line of guys waiting to meet Patrick Rothfuss when I met him at the book fair made me have to remind myself that I am one of these people. Let's just say we're not the cool kids (But hey, at least I shower... most days) lol
