SO I finally got an answer re: my gingerbread latte quest. They are using Indianapolis and the surrounding suburbs to test some new chestnut praline crap, and will not be getting the gingerbread latte here. Dang it!!!
The barista said it tastes similar (??) but is less spicy (??). She then told me she doesn't drink coffee or dairy, so take that for what it's worth, lol.
I'm not a gingerbread fan, but DH got one this weekend. Do they not have the syrup to make it where you live? I wouldn't trust a barista who doesn't drink coffee LOL!
I noticed that they took my guiltiest holiday pleasure off the menu...the Eggnog Latte. At least my waistline will thank me for that LOL! Also, since we have an espresso maker) at home, we did recreate the eggnog latte a few times last winter...it's a sometimes treat ; ) Also, the espresso maker was a very wise investment...we've cut our Starbucks trips WAY back...it's almost paying for itself in the money we're saving by making lattes, etc ourselves.
On the subject of making your own drinks at home since Starbucks keeps changing the menyu.... Has anyone else seen the new Keurig Rivo advertised? I saw an infomercial this weekend. We LOVE our Keurig, and I feel like I NEED this new one! LOL!
Jumping on the mad at Starbucks bandwagon. I was really excited because my husband and I stopped at Barnes and Noble on the way home last night. They had the eggnog latte and I excitedly ordered one along with my husband's mocha. Both drinks tasted burnt and the lid on mine had a long thin hole up the side which I wasn't aware existed till I went to drink and was covered in latte.
