Ten Things Tuesday

Re: Ten Things Tuesday

  •  9. I've been forgetting everything. If I don't write it down I forget. It sucks.

Be careful with this. I was forgetting a lot for a while, but then 1 year after I had my daughter, I completely lost it. I mean, I swear I had Alzheimer's. I would have a conversation with someone and would stop in the middle, look at the person, and say "What was I talking about?" It became so awful that I made an appointment with my doctor to see if there was anything to help it. She was no help, but I figured it out on my own. I switched positions at my job that had me do a lot of repetitive work. This helped me start remembering things much better. I still need to write everything down so I do not forget it and I have to do a task right away if someone asked me to do something, but consistently doing something helped tremendously.

Honestly, it freaks me out. The other day my mom asked what we had done the night before, I could not remember for the life of me. I literally thought about the night before for an hour trying to remember what we did and I couldn't remember. I had to ask DH.

Every one says it's just because I have a lot of things going on right now that it'll pass but I'm scared.

@sgautschi, oh goodness, T&Ps for YH's coworkers!! What do they do that there was an explosion?? How scary!

They work with rocket motors. One of the guys got burns to 60% of his body. The other got minor burns trying to save him. So apparently he is fine, just the other guy is in the burn unit.

  • @sgautschi, yay for going back to school! Also, I'm glad YH is OK and I'm sending t&ps to those two guys and their families.
  • @sgautschi that is so scary. Thoughts goingout for your husband's coworker. Also, good luck going back to school :) I am working on my BS in Psychology right now and it feels good to make my brain work again.

Bridget-I had really bad memory loss as wellfor months after having Ava Nichol aand it has gotten a little better lately. I have also gotten used to writing appts down in multiple areas and I make lists everywhere.

I have Ava Nichol back now :) I didn't leave Ava Nichol at all for like 3 mo and I didn't leave her over night until she was 9 mo. She does really well with my mom and it is nice to have time to get the house clean and work on projects I can't do with her around. P.S. this is why my house looks nice right now ;)

  • 2- DS is probably going to give our boxer a heart attack.  He jumped off the ottoman onto the sleeping dog this morning according to DH who is home with him today.  Crazy kid.

Now is the time to start teaching proper dog/child interaction. He needs to learn the dog is not a trampoline or bean bag chair he can just jump on. That's how dogs get upset and bite. I wouldn't want to see that happen to you guys! And it happens even with the most even tempered dogs; everyone's got their breaking point!
I totally agree. We're working on being gentle with animals and people in general. This is the first time jumping, normally he is just trying to keep up with the equally nutso dog.

  • @lindsayandjamie - DH and I went to Playa for our honeymoon and it was amazing. We stayed at Blue Bay and looooved it. There's a swing bar right on the beach - we spent way too much time there. It was wonderful.

@sg - thank God your H is ok! Prayers for his co-workers.
