  • @brij2006, that's actually not the worst idea. I guess if I keep bleeding even while taking the progesterone I'll think about picking up a test (I sent everythig I had to Amanda and Blueeyed).

@Venti29, do you recall at all how much/how long the old gp'er bled? I finally told my mom earlier what was going on, and she didn't have any hopes it was anything other than m/c (she had one before getting pregnant with my half brothers), so I'm feeling pretty low.

Thanks for the continued support and concern, ladies. I feel like Debbie Downer with every post I've put up this week and my mom just gave me even more shitty news earlier.

I'm not feeling too terribly thankful for anything right now, but I am thankful for all of you.

  • Lucky I've been lurking on GPM looking from an update from you. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this, and even more sorry that you sent me all those cheapies! :-( Do you want me to send you what I have back?

Also, I don't know if your mom is a health professional or not, but I've known people in similar situations and I've seen it go both ways. So while I'm definitely not saying your worry isn't founded, I just want you to know that there are times when it turns out okay. And I am praying this is one of those times!! <3

  • @amandaf6383, don't you dare send that stuff back! It's all yours. If I have to start over, I'll order more cheapies.

Thank you for your words of support, too. My mom's a nurse, though she's always been in pediatrics, not maternity. I honestly go back and forth, trying to stay positive and believing the progesterone will fix everything, and then resigning myself to the scenarios of telling everyone the worst. It's hard to stay positive, so thank you for sending those good thoughts for me. ♥

  • I'm so sorry you're still left in the dark, especially for thanksgiving. T&P your way, we're all here for you.

Waiting on my baby girl <3 EDD 2/5/14

  • I think I remember who Vent I is talking about...actually I might be remembering further back there were two ladies at the same time. One had betas that weren't doubling and then went down and then went on to have a healthy pregnancy and the other had symptoms like you are talking about and thought it was all over and ended up going on to have a healthy pregnancy. These ladies were pregnant before me so no longer around.

Honestly it has been so long I can't remember the specifics. I believe it went on for a few days to a week. She got on progesterone but it didn't stop it so again she thought it was all over but they upped her dose and/or changed the way she was taking it and it finally eased up. I believe she still had spotting throughout the pregnancy.

I didn't want to say anything because like I said I don't remember the screen name and the details are fuzzy.

Just like Amanda said...I am not saying your worry is unfounded. I would certainly be freaking out in your position. I just really hope that you get good news on Monday.

Subchorionic Hemorage. It's basically a pocket of blood between the uterine wall and the placenta/sac (correct me if I'm wrong, ladies). If it's not absorbed, it can bleed... sometimes a lot. It can be scary, but most of the time it doesn't harm the pregnancy. I, too, am hoping this is all it is!

Okay, you are free to call me crazy.

But in the meantime you could take pregnancy tests until you get confirmation. I would take them a couple of days after I thought I had passed it.  Just to see if I would still get a positive.  Then when I actually did pass it and knew it, I took a test 2 days later just to see and it was negative.

This is also because I had a lot of cheapies and like peeing on things. But if it gives you peace of mind to do so, then I see no problem in doing it.

This may not be very helpful information necessarily. I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks after my d&c and it was still positive. Granted my body was 13.5w at my d&c, but everyone's levels drop at different rates. A neg could be helpful info but a pos isn't necessarily... But I also like to pee on things so if I wasn't getting weekly hCG draws I'd probably still be peeing just to see. GL Lucky. T&P it's all just a scare on the way to a healthy baby.

  • Im so sorry you're in limbo, but like the other ladies said, your betas seem high and hopefully the bleeding is just due to low progesterone. Lots of hugs to you and I hope you get better news at your next blood draw.

  • I had a SCH with Delilah. I bled from just past 5 weeks to 12 weeks on and off. Sometimes bright red blood, sometimes pink or brown.

I went in at 6 weeks and they did an U/S where we were able to see a HB so that eased my mind a little but it was still scary. At 8 weeks they told me it was a SCH and measured it and just kept an eye on it to make sure it wasn't going to cause any problems. Sometimes your body can reabsorb them so you possibly never even know you had one and other times they bleed out like mine did.

Doc put me on pelvic rest thru 20 weeks to be on the safe side, but I had no other complications and obviously went on to have a healthy baby girl.

That's why I have been so pro pushing for an U/S for you. Hoping they'd discover something to ease your mind or give you some answers.

Having this experience has taught me it is not always the worst case scenario, so I'm going to remain hopeful for you and FX that baby is healthy and growing.

  • Lucky, I'm so sorry I can't remember the specifics of her, but I do remember being amazed at all the bleeding (and like you had to wait awhile to see her doctor) and she had a little heartbeat. I was floored.

Probably tomorrow. My OB's office doesn't do their own bloodwork; I have to get it done at a separate facility, and they've probably got tons of people's samples to get through. I really hate waiting.

  • T&Ps to you Lucky. Are you feeling any better today?
I've been feeling normal since about Thursday. Just had spotting Thursday and Friday, no more cramping, but I haven't felt even a little bit pregnant since the bleeding stopped. So, physically I feel fine. Mentally I'm a total wreck.

Overhearing the lady who sits caddycorner to me tell a couple of her office friends that she's going to be a grandmother again, and that her DIL (I guess??) is due in July (when I'd be due) sent me running to the bathroom trying not lose it.
