Settle an argument for me. Assume you are home for several days, let's say 2-4. You have nowhere impressive to be, maybe just a run to Target or to the grocery store, but otherwise you're lounging. How often do you shower?

  • I hate showering. I only do it because I have to, socially. If I'm home by myself I DGAF.

This! My hair is just fine in a greasy, messy bun if I'm just at home.

  • I love to shower. I can't tolerate caffeine, so if I don't shower, I never fully wake up. So I shower every day if want to get anything accomplished.

  • I will not step foot out of the house, even just to run into Target or the grocery store, without showering.  But if I don't leave the house I can usually go a day without a shower before I start feeling disgusting.

  • I rarely skip a shower and I rarely go out in public without showering.  If I don't shower, I am pretty repulsive to look at.

  • I can't shower every day in the winter - my skin dries out.  Gotta love Minnesota!
  • I am curious, though. What is the argument about??
There really is no right or wrong answer to it.  However, J is an OMG MUST SHOWER kind of guy. Once a day, if not twice occasionally.  I'm more... relaxed.  I had last Thursday to this this Tuesday off, so 6 days.  I showered 3 times.  J thinks it's gross.  I showered on the days I had to go out or meet people, but I skipped it when I was just lounging at home.  This baffles him.

I hate showers.  I have long hair that takes forever to dry.  I would honestly never step foot in a shower if it didn't get me clean.

  • My husband hates too shower too. I love to shower. He would probably never shower if he could get away with it. But he's always clean, for whatever that's worth. Never smells bad or anything. Usually I convince him to shower two to three times a week by getting in the shower with him. Whatever it takes!

  • My H will shower several times a day.  When he gets up, after work (he works construction, so this I get), and after the gym.  He'll shower after being somewhere dusty or after a haircut because it bothers him.

I shower daily, even if I'm not going anywhere.  If I wear my hair curly, I have insane second-day hair and have to wash it and let it air-dry.  If I do a blow-out, I'll shower but not wash my hair for several days.

I have thick hair that takes awhile to air dry before I put a hair dryer to it when I dry it straight. Thank goodness for shower caps on my non-wash days! DH doesn't hate showers but if he's feeling lazy and wants to sleep later or just takes too long walking up in the morning he'll skip a shower. I don't always shower on the weekends if I don't leave my house so I can't really say anything.

  • I am a shower snob.  I shower every day.  When I had mono, I showered every day.  I have a 17 month old and I have showered every day of her young life.  It makes me feel SO SO SO SO SO much better if I'm clean and put together.

This is quite a bit of it too.  If I sleep a little later than normal (sleep is precious!) or just run out of time, I skip a shower.  I can't seem to get the hang of doing my hair in the morning after a night shower.  It takes so long that it doesn't save me any time.  That and at night J just wants to join me (out of frugal-ness/water conservation, nothing fun).  NO. As someone else pointed out, if I do shower, it's me time.  No husbands, no kids.   You'd think this would inspire me to shower more, but I'm just lazy like that.

  • Also, since I've come of an age/get too little sleep/have too much stress where I need to wear make-up instead of just slapping on some mascara and chapstick, I refuse to leave the house without 'putting my face on.'

I wear makeup daily.  I just use makeup/face wipes or just wash my face first. Voila! I swear, it's becoming an art form of how long can I get out of showering without being gross.  Knowing it annoys J is one of my many motivators.  ;)

  • I'm fine with every other day if I'm home and have no intentions of going out. If I leave the house, I will for sure take a shower. I love the refreshed feeling I get, but my hair has gotten thicker and is a pain to dry now, so I've become more lax about it.

  • DH goes longer than me without showering.  We both shower daily on work days (him in the morning, me the night before), but on weekends, if we're not going anywhere, it's not unheard of for our whole family to still be wearing PJs at 4pm.  After a day or so of that, though, I start to feel yucky and need a shower, but he'll go all weekend sometimes.

When I went back to work after maternity leave, I started showering at night out of necessity - there just isn't enough time in the morning, and I'm completely unwilling to get up any earlier than I do - but I've come to really prefer it.  There's something about going to be clean that I really love.  But when we have somewhere to go on a weekend night - like to a party or on a date or something, there is definitely something to be said for showering and blowing out my hair and generally "getting ready" to go out, too.
  • I am not a fan of the shower.

But I do have a bath.  Every single day.
I'm the opposite.  I hate baths.  I feel like I'm stewing in my own juices.

  • I usually shower every day but there are times I will skip, if I'm home all day.  However I wash my once or twice a week, it's long and thick, it doesn't need to be washed every day anyways.

I don't think I have taken a bath since I was in elementary school. I'd love to stay in a hotel one day with a fancy soaking tub or just have one in my dream bathroom.

On ML J was adamant about me taking a shower every day.  So when he got home from work I jumped it. It was Wes's witching hour and I was SO glad to take a timeout from that.  Once I went back to work, my normal habits came right back.

This is me as well.  I shower every other night because the shower/blow dry/flat iron process takes a while and is a pain.

During ML, I'm pretty sure I showered every day.  Something about nursing always made me feel gross.  Sorry, probably TMI.
  • I'm an every other day shower kind of girl. MH can't function without his morning shower. I also don't wash my hair everytime. Its so much healthier than when I washed it daily.
