NBR: Favorite Musical?

My favorite is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We've listened it since I was a little girl and it is just my absolute fave. I have already gotten Izey hooked and we walk around all day singing "go go go Joseph, you know what they say!" lol

The Sound of Music is a close second.

  • Les Mis.  No question.  I've seen it more time than I can count and once from the orchestra pit (thanks to a friend who played in the orchestra on the world tour)!

    Rent is a close second.

  • Phantom of the Opera & Fiddler on the Roof. I also love the music from Once on this Island. We did the show my sophmore year of high school and I still have all the music memorized

  • RENT

I also have a strange obsession with The Pajama Game.

  • I love sooo many shows. My top three would probably be The Music Man, Anything Goes, and Les Mis.
  • It is a Sophie's Choice level decision between RENT and Wicked. Both the music and theme of each of these just hits me right in the freaking feels.

I also really love Grease AND Grease 2 because they were the first movie musicals I ever watched and I know ALL the words.

@northernlghts We did songs from Once on this Island in show choir.  "We dance to the earth...we dance to the water."  LOVE that song!

  • The Sound of Music has always been my favorite movie! Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is my favorite live show (I've seen it 4 times!).  And seriously, another musical that I love is Newsies, the movie (and I would love to see the Broadway version!). I watch the movie once a year at least, and I listen to the soundtrack on roadtrips because it's so fun to singalong with.

  • I used to be such a musical junkie. Wicked is probably my very favorite, but Hairspray, Avenue Q, Mama Mia! and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum are up there too.

  • I can't pick one. I've been a drama geek my whole life. I can't pick between Rent, The Phantom of the Opera, and Wicked.

I also love Chicago, West Side Story, and Mamma Mia.

  • Les Mis because of the overall amazing...ness of it.  Or Jesus Christ Super Star for the music.

  • Les Mis is probably my #1. But honorable mentions go to Avenue Q, Phantom of the Opera, and Mamma Mia. I know every word to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, but I've never actually seen it staged.

Favorite movie musical goes to Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

  • The first musical I ever saw on Broadway was Me & My Girl, and it was when Jim Dale was in it, and I would say that one will always be my favorite.

I also was fortunate to see Guys & Dolls twice, once with Jamie Farr and once with Nathan Lane and Faith Prince, and they were both amazing. I was also lucky enough to see Sutton Foster in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and she made it an awesome experience.

We used to go into the city pretty often to see shows, but sadly it has been quite a few years since I have done that.

  • Phantom of the Opera.  My parents introduced my brothers and me to it when we were really young and took us to see it a couple of times.. such a great show.

I also really like RENT, but Phantom is my all time favorite.

  • I still love the SOM. And pretty much any disney classic musical movie.

    That and Mama Mia.
  • Once is now one of my favorites because of the music, I would see Lion King again and again on stage. Phantom of the Opera will always be one of my favorites, my mom used to play it on the piano when I was little. There's too many to choose from, I give up I want them all.

Hands down, The Phantom of the Opera. I've seen in a bunch of times and have been singing the soundtrack word for word since I was 4. I still have the soundtrack from the original Toronto cast (Colm Wilkinson FTW) in my vehicle and listen to it at full blast. It has a really special place in my heart.

Next to that, I really, really loved Rock of Ages (the stage production... I haven't seen the movie). It was just so much fun!

I also have a deep love for Guys and Dolls, The Sound of Music and Les Mis as well.

  • I love singing along to Wicked and RENT but Les Mis, Guys and Dolls, and Anything Goes are my favorites to see live.
The funniest show I've seen was The Putnam County Spelling Bee. I recommend it!
