I know I was part of last year's post-NY boom. I just hope most of the boom aren't, as LL said, rude idiots. Hence hoping to keep my patience. I'm perfectly happy with most newbies who join us.
TTC since July 2012
BFP #1: 11/9/13; spontaneous m/c at 6w2d, 11/25/13
Maybe we should create a "need to know" tab for them and keep it permanately at the top of the page for a month or two.
Although I was part of the boom last year. So I don't have much room to talk.
We used to have a web page for GP. I would like to see that return to the board as a "sticky" thread or announcement at the top of the board. It had a lot of good information on it!
TTC #1 since July 2012
Cycles 1-9: BFN Cycle 10: Surprise BFP on 10/17/2013! EDD: June 25, 2014 Baby Girl born via induction June 26, 2014
@brij2006, we had one, but unfortunately newbies still don't seem to pay attention to it.
I think the newbs will liven the place up a bit. Give us some entertainment at least. Although I'm not looking forward to the drive-by BFPs. But I guess ya gotta take the good with the bad!
I always liked the newbies! At least the nice ones who weren't dumb. Always fun to get some new blood in the group! Hey, might even liven this place up, which would be awesome!
In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!
T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

I remember how helpful that was when I first started on the boards. Maybe there's a way we can get it back up there?
TTC since 1/13 DX:PCOS 5/13 (long, anovulatory cycles) Clomid 50mg 9/13 = BFP! EDD 6/7/14 M/C 5w6d Found 11/4/13 1/14 PCOS / Gluten Free Diet to hopefully regulate my system. I enjoy getting to know all of the new people. I was a newbie two years ago and if the ladies hadn't accepted me with open arms back then, then I wouldn't have the amazing friendships and support that I do now because of this board.
I hope all of the newbies feel welcome!
TTC since March 2012 w/irregular and anovulatory cycles.
Moved to an RE October 2013 HSG- All clear , S/A- Normal , Bloodwork -Normal
Maybe @seahorse01 or @nestcayla can out a sticky thread up? It was incredibly helpful when I started too. Even just the acronyms we use can be intimidating at first.

I was just thinking back to when I started on this board and realized I've stuck around in some way for roughly 2.5 years. I've loved the ladies on this board and been able to develop some wonderful friendships. Newbies tend to be a mix of great people and entertainment when they get ridiculous. Here's to hoping some fantastic ladies join!
Can we make a banner that says "only you can take a pregnancy test" with smokey the bear? Or something like that for the people that will inundate us with "zomg I had ST once yesterday and I think I might be totes preggers!" After we weed out the crazies I like the newbies! It's fun to help people learn about their bodies.

FWIW, I like the idea of a sticky thread. Sure, not every newbie will read it and we'll inevitably have drive bys, but some of those who really want to become part of the community could benefit!
TTC #1 since Feb. '12. dx: "unexplained" IF
After 2 shitty IVF cycles and 1 loss at 6+2 (EDD 11/7/14), DH and I are pursuing DIA.
11/17/2014 - ACTIVE AND WAITING!
Pregnancy was never the end goal; being a mom was.
I've been holding out on GP: I got drunk once and started a blog: Here it is (11/7 update)
As a fairly new person, I think it would be nice to have a sticky of all the acronyms that are used. It can be intimidating to ask what something means (and looking it up on the web comes up with some interesting and not relevant results).
Married: 10/13/2013
TTC #1: Mirena removed 5/26/2015; DH - normal SA, me - diagnosed with PCOS 8/4/2016 - on Metformin; BFP - 10/29/2016!!!, EDD - 7/8/2017
I'm all for a sticky with acronyms being one of the newbies! I have been able to figure out a few of them. But I'm not even good lie, I kept thinking Explosive Ordinance Division for EOD and I knew that one was way wrong!! I eventually figured it out haha )

I totally agree. I am learning, slowly. But some stuff, I am totally clueless. Lol, Looking it up on the web definitely can give you some odd answers...
