  • When one of the car doors or trunk are open on my car the dash says "Driver Door Ajar" or "Trunk Ajar" or whatever. It always makes me really mad and I want to yell, "No, it is not ajar it is OPEN! All the way open! Just say open!" Grrrr.

  • DH and I are taking an exam this weekend to become certified beer judges. I'm totally excited for it, and really just want to close the door to my office and study the style guidelines that we need to know. I'm thinking that at least a little of that will have to happen today and tomorrow.

  • I'm so pissed off at the world right now that I literally can't see straight.  My vision is actually blurry.... which probably means I'm getting a migraine. Awesome.

  • I drove my husband's car to work this morning because he cleaned the snow off of his car but not mine.  He has a work truck that he drives for work.  He gets home before I do -- if he has to take either of the girls anywhere he will have to clean my car first.

  • - Just for one day I would like every one to address me as "her royal highness" just so I can see how it feels.

    - Cottage cheese is a perfectly acceptable salad dressing.

    - I would like to make an evening gown out of poinsettias.

    - I want to dance with Fred Astaire.

  • I have a shopping date this Sunday with a coworker (who I never hung out with outside of work) and my other coworker's wife. None of us have ever hung out together before. I am ridiculously nervous about this and have already been thinking of ways to get out of it. I am sure it will be fun, but I just don't do well with new social situations.

I am only working a half day. I am very thankful that employers have yet to figure out that when an employee is only working a half day, it usually means they come in and make up simple shit to do (or read on the Kindle for PC app...whatevs), and count down the minutes until they can leave because they don't want to start anything "invovled".

    Or is that just me?

  • It took me a good two weeks to feel motivated enough to put up my work Christmas lights that I always decorate my desk with. Today, I finally mustered enough Christmas spirit to do it. I strung up my lights and got them the way I wanted them, and plugged them in - only to discover that my lights are broken.

    Bah humbug.

  • I really, really hate it when I have to go to court on Fridays because then I miss out on casual Friday at work.  I was all set for tomorrow (and only working a short day because of a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon, making casual Friday even better!), but then at this morning's hearing the judge told us to come back tomorrow morning for his decision.
  • Also, I have no motivation to decorate anything for Christmas.  I have to clear so many toys out of my living room to make room for the tree, and I just don't even feel like it.  And then hauling all the decorations out and everything . . .  Bah Humbug.

How do you do this? I feel like this is something that J and I would love to do.  How did you get involved?

We just did a tree and lights outside.  That's it.

  • Being pg & having a cold sux. I checked with my OB and I can take Sudafed so I have been doing that along with a saline solution at home but I am even more winded than usual. I just want this cold to go away.

My birthday gift from my parents this year was a new, pine wood bookcase. It's currently being stained so next weekend I get to finally have a home for my books currently sitting on the floor upstairs.

Also, I can't wait for the new year because I am getting a check for my unused vacation time. I have 17 days right now.

Dude, that's all we ever do, and I don't even feel like it.  And DH does the lights outside, I don't even have to have anything to do with that.
I also don't feel like decorating at work like we usually do.

  • Maybe a smaller tree like we did this year?  Ours is only 3ft tall.

  • Nah, we already have the tree.  DH's dad and his friend pick up trees for everyone the first week in December and deliver them to our houses.  It's pretty awesome, and I shouldn't be whining because that part is already done for me, I just have to set it up and decorate it.  I just feel lazy lately.
  • We don't have a tree yet.  I need to move some crap around because there's nowhere to put it.  Our open floor plan is awesome, but starts looking so cluttered very quickly.

  • - I wish The Nest would let you upload pics from your phone.  I want to post pics of our Christmas tree but I'm too lazy to upload to a separate site then C&P the link here.

    - I started a new job last week and I am SO.EFFING.BUSY.  But I love it.  I just wish I had more time to post here!

    - I really want a peppermint bark sugar cookie.

  • I am back at work after maternity leave and am now only working 40 hours in a 2 week period. So far, I've accomplished nothing work related since coming back last week aside from catching up with my coworkers, and I don't see myself being productive any time soon.
