Reading Goals

How is everyone doing on these? I need nine books to meet my goal. I did virtually no reading in the first half of the year because I was still adjusting to the whole new mom thing but now I'm pretty much back to my old speed. NINE BOOKS. So close I can taste it.

I hit my goal a couple of weeks ago, but it was only 30 books so nothing to be super proud of.

You can do it!

I met mine back in October but didn't increase because I wasn't sure how taking a full time class load on top of working full time would affect my reading this semester. I decided to see how many books I'd get read by the end of the year and use that as a baseline for next year's goal.

I met my goal two weeks ago. I should end the year 3-4 ahead of my goal.

I met mine last week!

I was so close last year: 98 out of 100 I think.

Do you set any parameters for yourself? Last year when I was getting close to the wire I read Six Months, 3 Days which was a "novelette" and felt guilty about counting it.

No parameters. But I usually only read full length novels, so I don't feel guilty about any.

I met my goal a month or so ago. I didn't change my GR's goal but I am still kind of hoping break 100 this year. Only 5 more books to go, so I should be able to do it.

I have made my goal according to me, but not according to GR. (I count re-reads toward my goal, but I don't change the original read date in GR.) So, I have 2 to go to meet the goal according to GR...and I am off work until the end of the year. So I can totally do this.

I lowered my goal to 75 from 100, so my siggy is a lie. I am 3 over my goal so far but there's no way I'll get to 100. I'm still proud of myself for reading that many books.

My original goal was 75 which I hit but then I upped it to 90. I have 5 more books to read to get there and I don't think it is going to happen.

I am going to brag. Last year, I read 54 books, and the year before that only 45. This year, I set my goal at 100 books and BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER and have now read 125 books and plan to finish at least two more be the end of the year.

This is one of the ways that divorce has worked for me...

I hit my goal of 75 a month ago, maybe. I'm at 89 right now. I think I'll finish another two or three by the end of the year.

I ended up lowering my goal about halfway through the year. I met the lower goal, but I am a little bummed because I originally planned to read twice as much.

I've met my goal according to goodreads, but I just read a series of short stories this weekend and that's what put me over. I'm hoping to get at least two more full-length books in before the end of the year.

I'm at 99 for the year. GR says 98 because I read the same book twice this year (Lola and the Boy Next Door, so cute I love it). I decided not to set a goal this year because I put off reading large books because of the time investment, and my obsession with meeting the goal. But it looks like I'll meet last year's goal - 100 books - anyway.

I met my goal of 25 in October. I figured I'd just see how many I would get read by the end of the year. I hit 35 last week and I'm happy with that.

I set my goal for 200 again knowing I wouldn't make it. Baby + move = very limited reading for a couple if months. I won't make it. I believe I am currently sitting at 160 books. I will try again for 200 next year.

I had set my goal for 30 thinking that I wouldn't get much reading time this year and I passed it a while ago.

I was intending to up my goal for 2014 but work switched me to a different office so I lost the time to read during my commute.

I met mine last week, I think. My goal was 75 books this year. I decreased it a lot from last year's goal since I had Emma. Right now I think I am at around 80 books so far, and I imagine I will be able to add at least 5 more by the end of the year. I think next year I will aim for 100.

My siggy says 50 but I changed it to 52 about four months ago. I just finished The Scorpio Races (AMAZING!) which was book #51. I'm halfway through listening to Sugar, Salt, Fat and I'm starting Stardust tonight so I think I'll actually surpass 52 which will be AWESOME!

I'm definitely not hitting my goal. I've only read 55 books, and I set my goal at 75. There's no way I will read 20 books by the end of the year.

I started back to school in August, so that definitely hindered my reading.

My initial goal was 50 which I hit in June (had no idea how much reading I would get done with A). Then I upped it to 75, which I passed. Then I made it 100, which I've done the past 4 years. I'm at 103 so I'm happy.

I met my goal 3 weeks ago. 75 books, hooray! I may break 80 this year if I can get all my christmas stuff done.
