And why fired?? because he answered honestly? He wasn't "bashing" anybody!
Are you fucking kidding me?! His ass should have been fired. Not suspended.

It's not about bashing people. No one said he wasn't allowed to say what he said or answer whatever question. By the same turn, the network that airs his show in order to make a profit is free to drop him when it becomes clear the show could become unprofitable because of one person's opinion and the backlash from people's response to his opinions.

That is not at all what I'm saying. You know about this because he is in the lime light and everyone is upset. If this was an office situation, no one would know and no one would be complaing on FB.
I agree with @cloudymeatballs. It seems like everyone is too sensitive about everything lately.

What I don't like is how someone says something they believe, and another person (network, what-have-you) doesn't like it, then they get to say, "No, I don't agree with what you said. You will be punished." (I understand he wasn't really "punished.")
He's a real person. Real people have different beliefs and say the wrong things sometimes. Why not have the viewers make the decision?
I'm not supporting what he said, but I'm also not supporting A&E's decision to indefinitely suspend him from the show.

Replace "homosexuality" in his statement with "black". Now do you get it?

A Parachute in an Oak Tree: A World of Love
At the risk of being alienated, I'll say the exact same thing I said about it on FB to some dear friends.
I hesitated to even comment on this. I’m trying to formulate my thoughts eloquently here to get my points across clearly. Hard to do in text sometimes. I haven’t read the entire interview.. I’ve only seen what’s in this article and in the People.com article I’ll link below. First off, regardless of your personal stance on the issue, we have to look at what the Bible says. The Bible states that marriage is between a man and woman and does say that homosexuality is a sin. But it also says that lying is a sin, and cheating, and murder, and I’d reckon that beating up a bar owner and his wife (as Robertson did) is also a sin. I don’t believe that any one sin is worse than another... it’s all sin, and we all do it. Second, Phil Robertson believes the Bible to be the infallible Word of God. So naturally, he is going to see homosexuality as a sin because that is what the Bible says. He makes no excuses for his past and admits to having done many bad, sinful things too. Knowing what we do know about him and his beliefs, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he feels this way. He completely admits that he's sinful and not perfect.
Third, he stated in the interview (from the People article) “However I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other”. I don’t see anything hateful in that. He simply doesn’t agree with the lifestyle. Just because someone doesn’t agree with a lifestyle doesn’t mean they hate the “offender” (for lack of a better term) or will treat them differently. It’s like polygamy or swingers or someone who sleeps around with a different gal/guy every night. Just because someone doesn’t agree with the lifestyle doesn’t mean they’re going to treat that person differently. They won’t lie and say they approve of the lifestyle, but it doesn’t mean they’re going to hate on them.
Fourth, I don’t necessarily think he was comparing being gay to bestiality. I think his wording came out a bit off and crass, but I don’t believe that’s what he was intending. I think (and this is just my speculation) that he was simply saying sin leads to more sin which leads to more sin. I could be wrong, but that’s just the impression I got. Fifth, I don’t think it’s right to suspend him for talking about his beliefs. I would be willing to bet that the interviewer asked specific questions looking to get something like that out of him since his beliefs are known and it’s also known that he doesn't use a filter. He says what he thinks w/o thinking about wording. That's also what makes him so endearing on other fronts. Again, could be wrong here, but I just have a feeling they were looking for something controversial. I just don’t think that comes up randomly in a conversation. Could be wrong, but that’s my gut feeling. Anyway, it’s not like it is a surprise that a Bible believing Christian would believe and speak what the Bible states anyway. He wasn’t being hateful, IMO. Alec Baldwin is far more hateful on several fronts, but hardly an eyelash gets batted when he goes off.
And sixth, he’s dead right in that none of us can get to heaven because of sin. We ALL sin and sin is imperfect. God is perfect so he could never allow something as imperfect as us into heaven. No way, no how.. doesn’t matter how “good” we are. That is why Jesus came. He is fully God and fully man and he came to earth and he lived a perfect life. He took our sins upon himself, upon his perfection, on the cross so that anyone who acknowledges his sinfulness and confesses that s/he’s not able to get to heaven on their own and needs Jesus to cross that divide between an imperfect humanity and a perfect God CAN go to heaven. Because of Jesus’ blood and sacrifice, if we believe in Him, God looks down and sees Jesus’s perfectness over us. I feel confident saying that is what Phil Robertson believes as well, given that he completely admits to his sinfulness. I hope at least some of that made sense.

Paula Deen got fired from the Food Network for admitting to using a racial slur years ago, so why shouldn't this ignorant asshole be fired as well?
What he said is not ok. It is his opinion and he has every right to think it, but saying really hateful things towards a group of people should not be tolerated in any place of employment. The brand of Duck Dynasty is his job, the network is his employer, his actions have consequences.
