    I went for a Christmas lunch with my old boss, old client, and his office staff yesterday.  I quit working there almost 3 years ago, and although I get along fabulously with my old boss, the client drove me insane.  Being welcomed back into their dysfunctional family felt good for a little while, and I'm really happy that I went, but I would never go back to work there in a million years.

    My new bookcase is in :D Can't wait to pick it up and organize my books this weekend so they have a home on a shelf & go through and donate some to my local library as well.

     

    Also, DH was looking online randomly & found this board game weekend coming up in January. I'm kind of excited about the prospect of going since we only have a couple friends who actually like to play games.

    I don't have my ear buds so no audiobook for me today :(  Maybe I will try to listen to some Christmas music to help with my lack of Christmas cheer.

    Can you take a coffee break to a drugstore and pick some up?  I imagine they'd have some cheap ones at Radio Shack or maybe even 7-11.

    My throat hurts. No fever so I'm hopeful it is just a cold. I'm having chicken noodle soup for breakfast. Probably for lunch and dinner too depending on how much is left. I hope I feel better by tomorrow, because the holiday cookie baking begins for me then!

    We had a Secret Santa exchange at work this morning and I got a hideous gift. It is a candle holder with some tacky blue & silver fake greenery around it. I would love to know who my Santa was. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. lol

    One of our clients sent me a shoe-box sized box FILLED with homemade cookies and sweets. No joke, there are about 5 pounds of baked goods on my desk right now.

    Husband and daughter have the stomach flu. Praying Jack doesn't get it. Babies with the flu are like volcanos. I didn't sleep at all last night and am in one of those adrenaline fueled hazes. I need to bleach everything!!!!!!!!

    Why is it so hard to find a good 1 off holiday card? I'm not very religious, so I wasn't comfortable with those. I don't want to send it to "someone special", It's not for or from a boss, a coworker, brother or sister, mother, father, grandparent, child, etc.  And while this person is a good friend, I don't we have the type of relationship where I'd send a super serious card about what our friendship means to each other this holiday season. I mean, I'm grateful for it, but I think we would both be laughing over it if we were together.  I did find the perfect card, but it was SO HARD.  I just want one that says Merry Fucking Christmas.  I don't think they sell those at RiteAid though.

    My coworker brought me in a home grown baby ghost pepper.  I told him I'd report back on the findings since I refuse to cry tears of pain at work.  I stopped eating spicy food when I got pregnant (heartburn) and I haven't had much/any since. I'm afraid my love of really hot things will have gone away and I will regret eating it, I'm too stubborn to back out.  I'll just have to keep a bucket of sour cream nearby.

    @julie37619 My mom once attempted to re-upholster our couch. We ended up having to get a new couch. Almost 30 years later and she still hasn't lived that one down!
    I love upholstered headboards!!! I recently bought a new one and would have bought an upholstered one if they weren't so expensive. Good luck on your DIY!!!

    @SnShne322 I found these on etsy.  I thought they were hillarious but only 1 or 2 people I send cards to would fully appreciate it.  Maybe you can order them for next year?
