Re: R.Wilsonny
Anyway, the day I started that thread, I was feeling so sad because I was really feeling AF was going to show any minute - I have the same symptoms every single month (bloating/cramping/sore boobs/sad/angry) - but I pulled myself together and decided I was going to start my new year off right, so I made the appointment to move onto testing for me. CD 28, H & I went to my parent's still feeling a little crampy, but then CD 29 (day I was supposed to get AF) came and still nothing. And my cycle is generally like clockwork. H & I were still at my parents, but when we got home that night and still no sign of AF, I decided to POAS, but wasn't expecting anything just like all the other months....boy was I wrong because almost immediately there was a faint line for BFP!!!!! And the line got darker after a few minutes.
So yes, we have had success. I'm cautiously optimistic because of the age factor and I feel like so much could go wrong, but for now I'm PR. I'm going to take it easy and pray this sticks - for now, H & I have only told one couple, but that's only because we were with them last night and they were wondering why I wasn't drinking. They know we've been trying, so we figured it was ok to tell them as a 'need to know'. (They have kids too, btw, so they are happy for us)
I want to thank you all for listening to me rant like an emotional crazy person because really, I was seriously thinking something was wrong - mainly due to my age. And we were just about to hit the one year mark for TTC. I really don't even know what else to say because I'm still kind of in shock that this is really happening. My original appointment with the dr was for Friday, but I was able to get in to see him yesterday so he took blood to check my levels and such...should hear back tomorrow or Friday the results and then I have another appointment in 2 weeks.

Btw, this might be TMI, but if it helps at least one person here, it's worth sharing. When I think about what we did differently this month compared to all the other months, a few things:
1- my H has been consuming large amounts of celery. It helps with the amount of swimmers that are produced/released. my friend recommended this to us, but you can find info online about this as well. It really does help.
2- we switched positions when having st. Initially my H read that man on top was the best for TTC, but every single time, everything - and I mean everything - trickled out, no matter how long I laid there afterward. Ummm...the rear entry seems to alleviate the gravity problem
3- I realize you all swear by FF, and I suppose it's a matter of preference at this point, but ever since we switched to using the Glo app, it was such a huge huge help. And you pay absolutely nothing to use it, unlike FF. That app will show you your fertile window, but it also pinpoints the percentage chance you are likely to conceive on any given day in your cycle. So in addition to the charting, and opks, this really helped narrow it down to the most specific days and help us time things better.
Thanks again, ladies, and I hope I'm welcome to stick around here
