  • Wtf....I'm curious to know how old the kid is???!!!

And to be a grandma at 31 and proud of that???!!! Jeez...see, this is what is wrong with society - you put shows like 'teen mom' and '16 and pregnant' on TV glorifying being a teenage mother and this is what you get. smh

  • Jeebus Christ.  I'm 33 and can't even be a mom...how the hell would you be excited to be a grandma at 31??  But obviously, she was a young mom too..so that's probably norm for them.

  • Btw, I was 17 when my brother was born....I was actually in the delivery room and it scared the shit out of me. Certainly made me think twice about having sex and getting knocked up - I could never imagine having a kid when I was a kid myself.
  • I mentioned this to DH. He said maybe she is married to someone older who has an older child? Just a thought.

Like Aim said though, if this is her natural daughter having this grand baby then obviously having children young is the norm for that family. That's so crazy though...

I, too, think it's important to celebrate the life of the new baby. It's weird to celebrate a teenager being pregnant.

Of course it's weird because now this teenager is going to be forced to grow up very quickly not to mention have hard hard life as well as the baby. Accidents obviously happen, but it's just so irresponsible to bring a child into the world when you're a child yourself.

This was my thought too. But I'm guessing ILRV would know that info from her FB. So that's likely not the case.

DH's sister became a grandmother at the age of 34 last year. But her husband is 51 with children from a previous marriage.

  • That's so sad.. :( I have a feeling my cousin (she's 30 now) may be a grandma in the next year or two.. She has a 14 year old son who is very sexually active. When it happens, I will absolutely blame his dad for starting him down that path. When the kid turned 13, he gave him a box of condoms and said "have fun, be careful". Um... It's no surprise my cousin was knocked up by him at 15... Breaks my heart.

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!

  • I'm just thinking of age here... The soon-to-be grandmother would have had to had a kid at the age of 11, that kid would have had the now KU mom at 11, and the now KU mom would have to be pregnant at 11. And even that is older than 31.

I'm hoping these are previous marriage kind of things but still, 31 is VERY young to be a grandmother. I'm not knockin' it or anything. Just putting that out there.
