Not hard at all. I use Pellon iron-on stuff and stitch it on as well. Applique is so easy and fun.
I'd like to try appliqué but so far I've been pretty shy of it, I did try to make an appliquéd quilt for my godson when he was born. He's 6 now and I still haven't finished it.
You could buy some of the iron on stuff and play with scraps. I really enjoy it. It feels creative.
I just picked up Quiltmaker magazine's 100 blocks and there is such a cute camping themed quilt in there that it may push me into trying that. I have a few projects I need to finish first-unless we have a miracle.
