Intro (re-intro?)

Hi Ladies :)
I used to be around here a few years ago when we were transitioning from TTA-to TTC NNT. I'm friendly with Xan and she's been encouraging me to come back for months :)

DH is 31, I'm 29. We were married 10/10/10, and we own a beautiful home in Massachusetts. I work as an In Home Behavioral Therapist, he works in website marketing for a major company (that was easy! :))

DH was born with a diagnosis of Kleinfelter's which has made the last 3 years of NNT interesting. I'm a plus size girl, who is pretty irregular after three years off BC. I've been temping and charting for those 3 years and have been on the roller coaster of emotions that brings. I've been relishing my brand new love of the gym and Zumba and getting some weight off :)

Recently we've been talking about going to see an RE. I'm really nervous due to having lurked and read and researched lately and it just seems so overwhelming, but obviously no matter the process the benefit at the end is well worth it :)

Currently I'm at the end? of a 38 day cycle (25 dpo). I actually called my OB today to talk about coming in to get checked out, this has been my most promising cycle in 3 years, both temps and symptoms, but with no positive HPT, however I just started spotting so I have a feeling this isn't anywhere near it for us....and I feel like while a lot of my friends are supportive, many are not or just cant understand. Xan keeps telling me to come in and join back in with you ladies, that I will find a good spot here again.....

Any questions, please ask :)

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Thank you all so much for your kind words and well wishes :)

I think its time for a new OB? (and please don't think I'm crazy...I already feel crazy enough! :( )
She was super condescending in the voicemail she left me following my request  to speak to her "Ashley, you do know that you can be late without being pregnant"

I called her back and she listened halfheartedly to whatever symptoms she would let me get out....and said the following: "you haven't had a positive urine test?????" "no, and I've taken 4 since Christmas" "Ashley...if you were pregnant you would have a positive urine test at home." "yes but with all the symptoms???" "yes!!!!!" "but what about ectopic?" "Ashley....if you were pregnant you would have a positive pregnant pee test, no matter where the pregnancy"
(please don't think I'm an idiot...and one of those women to side eye....I do know this....but I also know that some women never see a positive HPT before a blood test or ultrasound)

Told me to wait another week.....and we'd talk again......Meanwhile I'm just concerned....not necessarily with just the age old "Am I or am I not???" but these are so abnormal for symptoms for me that I'm concerned that if I'm not pregnant....is something wrong?????

  • Welcome and good luck!  I hope that you can start working towards some answers and hopefully a BFP.

Do you have a link to your chart?  I ask because I'd say it's probably incredibly unlikely that you're actually 25dpo.  I think FF and TCOFY say that the luteal phase is generally never longer than 16 days.

  • Welcome! If you're not comfortable with your OB, I'd switch. I hope you don't have to go the RE route, but I love mine (based out of MA). I'd be happy to PM you her info. The testing sucks, but it can be reassuring to have a plan in place. Good luck!

@looneylife yea probably not but at the same time it doesn't seem to be super off either....
I've been sleeping like crap and I'm sure that AF is on her way....still concerned about what happened for the past almost 20 days where I've been nauseous and cramping, sore boobs, over emotional etc for that amount of time which is totally way out of the box abnormal for me :( I hope this works I forget how to do this!

  • I'd say that CD25 is more likely, making you only 13dpo.  Given the spotting and temp drop, unfortunately you're probably right in that AF is imminent.

I agree with @LooneyLife, I think you O'd on CD25.  Will your insurance cover an RE?  Honestly, with your husbands DX and your irregular cycles I wouldn't waste time with your OB, especially since you aren't particularly fond of her.  I know going to an RE is a major step (and definitely don't do it if you aren't ready for that next step), but my RE and the knowledge he and the practice has is incredible compared to my obgyn.  I wish I wouldn't have stuck with my obgyn as long as I did given what I know now.

  • I'm with the other ladies, that CD 25 is way more likely when you O'd. That temp shift is much clearer.

I'm glad someone else asked you to link your chart; I'd immediately thought how unlikely it was that you were 25 DPO, but I didn't want to sound rude.

Unfortunately, figuring out symptoms can be tough. It's possible you've been fighting off a bit of a bug. Or indulging in extra, uncommon goodies over the holidays that your stomach might not have appreciated. Or you just had an "off" cycle and your hormones were a bit wacky, causing the symptoms for you. Hard to say, really.

I believe it will, we have a pretty decent plan, and MA has some pretty decent coverage (better than most states) I think I will start by changing OB's....two of my friends see's a really nice but aggressive OB closer to me....and they are doing amazing things for them.....or my sister in law loves her OB too and its closer.....I think I might have a better time.....
