I was just coming here to post this! I didn't know some of these were being made into movies. My excitement over The Giver was killed and trampled by T.Swift. BLECH.
My thoughts EXACTLY!  WHY CAN'T THIS GIRL JUST DISAPPEAR FOR A WHILE?????  I hope they don't expand her role!
Ditto...T.Swift in the Giver is like putting bubble gum in risotto.

  • I didn't know some of these were books first but the trailers looked so good! I'm definitely going to try to read some of them before seeing them.

  • 1. This is Where I Leave You was a great book.  I'm so excited about this one!
    2. I had no idea about Dark Places.  Awesome!
    3. I have Reese Witherspoon portrays Cheryl Strayed as a less obnoxious person.
    4. I'm afraid of what they make The Giver into.  Taylor Swift?  Heaven help us.

I really wanted to see The Monuments Men but I didn't realize it was a book first.  I think I'm going to pick it up.
Same here.  That is, as long as I get far enough up on the list before the movie comes out.

I think I'm going to give The Giver a chance, if only to see Jeff Bridges as the Giver.  As long as they don't mess with the story too much, it should be good.

I had no idea Unbroken was being made into a movie.  Directed by Angelina Jolie?  This story is so beautiful and heartbreaking.  I hope she does it justice.
@angelrx I think the project shows promise. Universal bought Zamperini's life rights way back in 1957(!!).  Early drafts of the script didn't pass muster but I think the one being directed by Jolie was written by the Coen brothers.

I had no idea either. Can't wait to see this one and tell my IRL book club girls about it today when I see them.
Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

  • I'm super curious about Serena. That's a pretty dark book and a really different character choice for Jennifer Lawrence.
