I've really tried to lighten up my mindset but the last few young adult books that I've read, I haven't loved as much as everyone else here has loved them.

I'm afraid I'm growing out of seeing myself as a teenager and feeling so many feelings. :-<

I got some tall riding boots just after Christmas, and today is only the second time I've worn them. But every time I wear them, they're the highlight of my day. I love these boots SO MUCH.

I don't like Girl Scout cookies. I think it is a worthy cause to donate to and I really wish I could just give them money without having to get the cookies.

My boss buys boxes and boxes of cookies every year and then leaves them laying around for whoever wants to take them home because she doesn't like them. You could always do that.

You can

All nonprofits accept donations.

Plus, my neice's troop does a thing where you can buy boxes but then they donate them to the local food bank.

You can buy boxes of cookies to be sent to military personnel. I've done this before.

But as much as a love GS cookies, I realized I could nearly the same exact cookie (it might actually be the same, I don't know) at the grocery store. I still buy them from my niece, but much less than I used to.

Day 4 of being home with the kids. Both are feeling better, but since Isabella had pneumonia, I decided she should have another day to rest before I send her back to daycare.

Unfortunately, the school district hasn't found a sub for me yet and school has been in session for 40 minutes already. I started feeling guilty and even called HR to see if I needed to go in, but the lady assured me that family is more important and that they would figure it out.

I sure hope not everything has one to shit this week and that when I go back on Tuesday, plans for the most part have been covered.

I'm reading Mariana on my kindle for PC app while at work. I plan to do this for as much of my work day as possible. I'm recording and scanning evaluations I've previously reviewed so it's mind numbing work. Thank goodness for double monitors!

We had this, like, really amazing electric pencil sharpener in my classroom that stopped working randomly yesterday.

My classes want to write Mr. Sharpie-Sharpener eulogies and have a service.

I AM PAINTING THIS SHARPENER GOLD AND PUTTING IT ON MY SHELF.

And I'm not even a little bit sorry about having them take class time to write them. The kids WANT to write something. That's good enough for me. If someone thinks it's a waste of class time, I'm gonna tell them off.
