Am I reading this correctly? You are going to the show on Feb 14 th also?

As in- the same show I will be at?

Sooo... You do realize dinner recs will come at a price- we will have to try to meet up at some point!

Any how. What type of food/experience/environment were you thinking?

Also, if we live so close, why haven't we had a GTG?

Yes, ma'am! I'll be at the show on the 14th! :-)

I had no idea you were this close... I guess in my mind CT is far away from MA lol (Jersey girl... bad at geography!).

No clue what we're looking for. We like everything, really. The only thing I'm concerned about is it being close enough to get to the show on time. Walking distance would be awesome so we don't have to worry about parking twice. We'll probably get to the area around 6:30 and 10 minutes early is late to me, so I wanted to be in the theater by 7:30-ish. So, whatcha got???

Chain or local?

We prefer local, but chain is OK if it's more convenient and good. And it's a special occasion, so price doesn't matter... although I'd rather it not be the most expensive joint in town lol.

Ok.
So, first off, you pretty much can't go wrong with Max Downtown. Max restaurant group has a number of places (all different cuisines) in and around Hartford. Max Downtown is american, and delish. Probably a 10-15 minute walk to the Bushnell, and you can cut through the park.

Also American (maybe more upscale) is Dish. H took me there before a show for a birthday dinner one year, and it was amazing. Same walk, maybe a few extra minutes.

For Italian, (and shorter walks) you can try Peppercorns, Salute, or Vito ' s by the Park. I haven't been to them, but have heard great things about them all.
