Awww, girls congratulations!!! THis will surely be a crazy journey. So, since I had my last period Dec. 27 that would make me 4 weeks today? Or do I go on when we conceived?? I am an idiot when it comes to this. I want to tell my Mom and Sister soooo bad, but they both have big mouths. I have a huge family, bros and sisters, and they like to talk. Lol, and my H wants to wait... I get it, but I want to scream it to the world. Oh and my Mom always asks, so did you start your period?? Lol So excited!!!! And I am going to apologize in advanced since I am probably going to be on here asking a lot of silly questions!! xoxo

Erm, first off, please don't refer to yourself or other people's lack of knowledge about a topic as "retarded". That's rather offensive.

Second, most docs go by your LMP (last menstrual period) for dating, so yes, by that calculation, you'd be 4 weeks. If you know when you O'd and it was later than around 2 weeks ago, you might mention that, but most docs go by the assumption that you would have O'd the "typical" 14 days into your cycle. If you're typical in your cycle, just go by your LMP; it'll be pretty accurate.

I'm 26w PG with my third, my angel twins were born last Dec. It's been a long road but we are so excited.

We didn't keep it secret at all from our families b/c they knew we were doing IVF. I'm also very vocal with my IF struggles IRL so we announced after we had our first ultrasound, which I know isn't the norm.

  • First baby. 34 weeks! Holy cow!

I had a very rough first tri. Lots of bleeding and horrible morning sickness. We didn't want to tell people early but my parents live close and realized something wasn't quite right. We told them around 6-7 weeks; everyone else was after our dating u/s, including my ILs, at 12 weeks.
Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

Honesty when people ask very pointed questions like "did you get your period?" You have two choices. You can lie and say yes if you really want to keep it a secret, or you can say something else like we've decided to keep all further progress of ttc to ourselves. Depending on the person and how close they are to you, they'll either know you're pg, or back off. I would assume if you tell your mom that, she'll assume you're pg. that's just my own personal experience. (My step mom was always asking me very direct questions. And a couple friends)

  • I'm 8 weeks along. We told another couple we are friends with a few days after we found out, but only because we were with them NYE and they were wondering why I wasn't drinking. lol

I waited until after my 2nd appointment with the doctor to tell my mom because we wanted to be sure things were moving along okay. This weekend we are telling H's parents but only because they are leaving for Europe in a few days and will be gone for like a month so we figured we'd tell them now. A few of our 'innermost' circle know too, and that consists of 3 other couples, but we will tell everyone else after we make it past the first trimester :)
  • So, we got the blood results back, awesome. Positive, I knew it. :) We decided to tell our families the weekend of Valentine's day. Its killing me not telling my Mom but he wants to wait. We have a family get together that weekend, so figured that would be a good time, we'd be 7 weeks. I would like to tell my Mom now, lol but since he said, when we tell my parents we need to tell his too. Ya ya ya. haha ;0 Im so excited, a lil like omg we are gonna have our own little meatball in 9 months! holy cow!!!
