I heard that there is a genetic predisposition to cilantro.  Like, to some people with this particular gene (or without the gene, whichever), it tastes like absolute garbage.  and it's genetic.  Same with being able to smell asparagus pee.  I didn't think that asparagus made my pee smell funny, but it turns out it probably does, I'm just genetically not able to smell it.

    a)  it's OK but I have to be in the mood for it.

    b)  hate it.

@SusieBW This is why I brought it up.  To some people, it tastes like soap.  WHAT!?  I LOVE cilantro and cannot fathom hating it.

It's not that it tastes like soap to me.  It's just that cilantro has a way of overpowering every single thing that it's in.

  • Pumpkin, depends.  Is it pie?  Then yes.  The answer to pie is always yes.

I love cilantro, and grew it in my garden last year.  I always have cilantro on hand and substitute it for herbs and spices that I don't have, and it usually works out okay.

Which NBCer lives in Arizona?  I was drooling over someone's IG the other day, it looked so warm and pretty.  Wearing flip flops!  I totally need some warm and pretty right about now.

Embarrassing habit: Crying. I cry when I am happy, sad, for no reason what so ever. I can't control it sometimes and it is super embarrassing. Especially in public.

To everyone: Tell me one embarrassing habit that you have.

I'm one of those people who will reply with a similar situation if you tell me something bad/sad that's happening to you.

I SWEAR I'm not trying to be a one-upper or turn your sadness around to me. I am just terrible at conversation and only know how to relate to people by finding common ground.

I never assume people are one-upping. Definitely recognize that as finding common ground and I always appreciate when people do this because it makes me feel more comfortable with them.

    Love both pumpkin and cilantro.

Embarrassing habit:  I also sometimes snort when I laugh.  I have no idea where this came from...I never used to do it!

If I could trade places with any NBCer....it would be @julie37619 with her amazing bookshelves and adorable dog.

    Sounds fun/scary!!

My bad habit...  I have a bad habit of grabbing the last of something and leaving the wrapper.  It's a horrible horrible thing.

On who I would trade places with..I wish I knew everyone well enough to answer that question!
Though I hear someone wants to trades places with my SAHW status.  You don't by the way.  Trust me.  Mine is for health reasons and it sucks.

I love cilantro and pumpkin, but love pumpkin more!
