I would trade with someone else in a warm place right now. I need to see the sun!

We have sun! But it's still 2 degrees (Fahrenheit. I don't know the conversion!)

To everyone: Tell me one embarrassing habit that you have.
When I'm reading, I sometimes mimic the facial expressions described in the book and I don't even realize I'm doing it.
    I do this tooo!!!!
Same here. I also do it with TV when I actually have time to watch. DH thinks it is hilarious and calls me on it all the time.

Can I go for a long walk outside in that weather?! Cause that would be awesome!!
  • I'm in!

I love both pumpkin and cilantro.  And I'm still trying to think of an embarrassing habit.  I know I have them, they just aren't springing to mind.

To everyone: how do you feel about a) pumpkin and b) cilantro?
    1. I'm ambivalent. It's ok but people seem to have incredibly intense feelings about it.
    2. Depends on the dish. Sometimes I can't even taste it and then others it tastes like soap. Go fig.

I'm incredibly catchphrase-y. When I find a particular expression that I like, I say it ALL THE TIME because I'm ridiculous. (ie, Junewhatevs or referring to something as "THE WORST")

Everyone- If you could trade places with another NBCer for a day who would it be and why?
I'd trade places with @Young_Love because I've waited my whole life to be tall and it sadly hasn't happened yet.

I'd also trade places with @EliStar because I'd be ridiculously gorgeous and constantly fashionable and well put together.
You know I ALREADY love you, right?

P.S. I would love to trade places with you and have brilliantly witty observations and comebacks flying from my mouth all day long.  Let's make this happen.

  • I have always wanted to be tall too, so I will trade places with anyone taller than me (which would be almost everyone).

  • Embarassing Habit: I have two. Add me to the list of ladies crying over good and bad things and when just stressed out. I also turn bright red when frustrated, embarassed, or pissed. My boss explained to me once that I have no poker face. Awesome.

    Pumpkin: Thumbs up.

    Cilantro: Also a thumbs up.

Trading places: This is a really hard one. I'll go with anyone in a warmer place than me today. I'm about to start planning an imaginary vacation to an island just to get my mind of the cold.

  • I miss all the good posts when I'm at work!

I'd trade places with Booney at Christmas to have all the trees and her bookcases. (Please tell me I have this right)

    Love pumpkin and cilantro.

Embarrassing habit is rarely vacuuming or dusting. I also curse too much.

My question for everyone: What is your biggest regret? (Or second biggest if you don't wanna share that one.)
    image
  • I use to think it was not kissing a certain boy when I had the chance because I always wondered "what if?" but now I realize that really isn't a regret because I am quite happy where I ended up. That and while I get along well with him (we're still friends), I can't stand most of his other friends which wouldn't have made for a good relationship.
Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

  • Let's see. Yes to Pumpkin AND cilantro.

I'd switch with @Elistar because she's Cuban and pretty and has an adorable baby and she seems totally together all the time. I'm usually just a dumpy mess even without a kid to take care of.

Embarrassing habit - I guess it isn't really a habit, but I get really violent hiccups when I'm nervous. It's horrible, because oh, you know, presentations, speeches, my first date with my now husband....

  • Biggest regret: Not even applying to UCLA (I knew I wouldn't get in, so I didn't even try) and not doing a study abroad semester in college

<3 You guys are totally making my day! My motto is fake it till you make it!

And you are NOT a dumpy mess. Not even a little bit.

Ditto @Young_Love re: not doing a study abroad in college.  Especially considering how much I love to travel as an adult.

Biggest regret: quitting Chinese school.  I wish I'd stuck with it because now I realize how much I want to pass down Chinese language and literacy skills to Em, but I can barely speak or read Chinese myself.

  • My biggest regret is choosing love instead of going away to college. I got married and had a baby way too young and now 10 years later I'm a single mom still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.

My second biggest regret is never learning to play guitar.
    image
  • My biggest regret is not spending more time looking for a wedding dress when I got married.  I didn't want people to get bored of looking with me and I didn't want to be "that bride," so I went to David's bridal and picked a dress within an hour and a half.  I never got that feeling everyone talks about and I kind of feel like I missed out on the experience a bit.  I just always wonder if I would've felt better in my dress on my wedding day if I had spent more time looking.

  • I'm late to the game but better later than never...

Add me to the list of people who make faces while reading. Although I don't tend to do it when reading but I do it when I'm listening to audiobooks in the car...I sometimes wonder if other drivers can see my faces.

If I could trade places right now it would actually be with myself from 2 years ago....I was at such a fun point in my life and I want that lifestyle back!!

Hmm...I actually don't have any huge regrets in life, maybe the biggest one (although this is ongoing) is the way I'm a wimp and too afraid to stand up to my parents and ask some difficult questions about the past that they'd prefer not to talk about but that I have a right to know.

I'm a picky eater so I'll take pumpkin over cilantro.

    Coffee, Wine, Chocolate, Marinara

    Phew I think that's all!
  • Ooo my question is for @jackiback

Are you still planning on making personal challenge buttons or have you decided to take the year off since most people seem to love the HIMYM ones...As I've never watch HIMYM I was looking forward to seeing what you came up with (and of course adding one to my siggy!)

If not, no big deal, then I just can stop being OCD about checking for a post :)
  • My biggest regret? Going camping six years ago and getting a tick bite and not treating it right away. Which leads to regrets about being unable to finish college. But I guess I can't regret too much. Leaving college and moving back home let me reconnect with an old friend, who I am married to now.

  • Tea, beer, chocolate, both!
Regret- Not dating more. I love mh and wouldn't trade him. But reading all this amazing YA makes me wish I dated more in HS. I would still want to end upwhere I am. (Does that even make sense?!?)
