    A. Love pumpkin! Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Pie Cake, Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins
    B. Cilantro! LOVE... the smell and taste!

    Yum and Yum.
I heard that there is a genetic predisposition to cilantro.  Like, to some people with this particular gene (or without the gene, whichever), it tastes like absolute garbage.  and it's genetic.  Same with being able to smell asparagus pee.  I didn't think that asparagus made my pee smell funny, but it turns out it probably does, I'm just genetically not able to smell it.
A science teacher at my school just told me this!  So weird! I obviously got the non-garbage tasting gene, because I love cilantro!

  • Okay here's a few questions:

    Coffee or tea?
    Beer or wine?
    Chocolate or vanilla?
    Marinara sauce or alfredo?

Coffee, but only in latte form.  I occasionally drink coffee at home but it has to have flavored creamer.
    Wine... beer is no bueno!
Vanilla ice cream, but I do like chocolate candy.
    Alfredo or pesto!
    Books Read in 2016: 4/50

  • I love pumpkin bread, cookies, muffins, etc. But not pumpkin pie. For me it's all about texture. I love cilantro, but not a lot of it.

My embarrassing habit is repeating myself when I think people don't hear me when they actually heard me and just didn't have a response. It's like I realize way too late that they heard me. Probably not a big deal to them, but I feel like a tool.

If I could trade places with any NBCer....it would be ANYONE who is somewhere warm right now.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • Regret- not traveling when I was in college (I didn't want to leave DH).  Thinking back, I would have loved to study abroad or do some kind of humanitarian trip.  My sister is going to South Africa this summer for two weeks to work with kids, cleaning up/working on a school, and working with animals, and I'm so jealous!  She invited me to go, but I can't leave my kids for two weeks. :(

  • Scariest thing you've ever done (it may not be scary to everyone)?

    Do you have any tattoos?

    Books Read in 2016: 4/50

  • Scariest thing. Hmm... Spelunking. It was like bouldering in pitch black with only slight beams of light. At one point there was a very narrow, low area. We had to army crawl through it and my hips barely fit. Terrifying really.

    I have a tattoo.

I just had to google spelunking.  I had no idea what that was! Sounds scary!

  • Scariest thing: Wore a bathing suit in public and posted a pic of myself on FB with it.

I have three tattoos. I love two of them and hate one with every fiber of my being.

  • Scariest- on our first anniversary we went to Tobermory. We climbed down a cliff face on Lake Huron down to a cave (It has a name which I can't remember). I am completely afraid of heights and not a great swimmer and I hate falling, oh and tight spaces. We had to climb up a tiny hole in the ground to get out. NEVER AGAIN.

    No tattoos.
  • :o(  The regrets question made me really sad.

  • This is probably both the scariest (looking back as an adult) and the stupidest thing I ever did. Freshmen year- met a guy online during winter break, few weeks later we met in person and I see he looks like his picture & seems to be who he says he is. Week or so later I go back to school and he invites me over to his place. So I take off with him overnight, staying at his house, home alone and didn't tell anyone except my roommate (and I didn't leave his full name, number or address with her). I'd kill my kid if she ever did this.

  • Forgot to answer mine. My biggest regret is trying to reconnect with my mom. I knew it wouldn't work and I would get hurt again, but I had hope I guess.

  • Gah! So many questions to answer! This is the pitfall of working nights and having busy days I s'pose. Let's see how many question I remember...

Nestie I'd want to be/trade with? Ditto PPs who said someone warm. I think @84Lauren is in AZ, so I'd probably pick her since I have family in Phoenix and could be warm and with my family.

Embarassing habit? I bite the skin around my fingernails, sometimes to the point of bleeding. :/

Biggest regret? Dropping out of college after 2 years. I mean, I did it because I couldn't afford it and now that I've gone back it's been almost entirely on the company dime so I saved myself a LOT of money but I also feel like I've set myself back a ton in my career.

Scariest thing I've done? Driving to Washington DC and camping on a sidewalk for 3 days to audition for American Idol when I was 19. DH (then BF) came with me so it was slightly less scary.

Tatoos? Not yet but I've been planning on one for my 30th in August and I've known what I want it to be for the last 6 months or so but by the time I get it I'm afraid it will seem bandwagony due to timing even though I've wanted it for a long time.

    Cilantro? Tastes like robot penis.

  • Scariest Thing....

    Similar to @northernlights

I was home alone in my apt (DH was gone for the day)...a random guy knocked on my door and said he needed a ride to go pick up his car. I drove him (yes I let this random guy who was at least double my size in my car) then we got there and he said he needed $40 to get the car back so I went to an ATM and gave him the money (he claimed he lived above me and would pay me back tomorrow and I didn't know any of our neighbors so it sounded plausible).

My husband wasn't due back until after 10 that night...if anything had happened it would have been a super long time before it was discovered. I look back on that day and just cringe and feel like a moron!

I technically have 2 tattoos although the second one was just an extension of the first so it looks like one. I am madly in love with them and I already know what I want for my next. I'm just trying to hold out as long as possible so I don't end up covered in tattoos! I do love having and getting them though (call me weird but I like the feeling of the needle on my skin).
  • Biggest regret: dropping out of college the first time around.

Scariest thing: pitching my book, in person, to an editor from St. Martin's Press. I thought I was going to pass out or vomit. Thank baby Jesus for the two glasses of wine I had prior.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

Scariest thing: Jumping off a 60 ft bridge (into water, obviously) when I was in high school.  There's no way I'd do it now.  Although, stepping off the tower when going zip-lining was pretty close to the same feeling.

Tattoos: Three.  I got my first one matching with my mom when I turned 18 and she turned 40, my second one (matching) when my sister turned 18, I was 27, my mom was turning 50, and my third as another bonding moment with my sister (same one from before), though not matching.

  • Oh. And tattoos. I have five.
One on my wrist. Wife and I got this on our honeymoon in Reno.
    image

I have my literary tattoo on my neck. Stay Gold from The Outsiders. Got this in Vegas on a trip to meet some Nesties!

I have one on my shoulder that is a love bug. Me & bestie got these. This was my first tattoo.
I don't have a photo, but it looks like this.

And lastly, my favorites. My swallows.

Scariest thing: Cliff jumping into the Susquehanna River. The force of hitting the water threw my bikini top off and I never did find it.

Regret: Also about a boy which, like @NorthernLghts is silly because I'm happy and where I'm supposed to be but I always wonder...

Scariest: Becoming a mom. Not much else scares me.

Tattoos: None though I almost got one with boy from above. I may still do it one day.

Regret: Not staying in New York an extra year.  My MA program ended and DH's was another year.  I moved back to CA and started working and then he moved out here when he finished, but I really wish I'd stayed in NY with him and found a job there and lived there an extra year.  It ended up okay because I got a job I love, and we made the long distance thing work for a year, but I wish I'd been brave enough to stay there.  Going back to CA was kinda the safe option.  Sigh.

    Coffee
    Wine
    Chocolate
Marinara if my mom or I make it (I'm a tomato sauce snob), alfredo if ordering out or if pretty much anyone else is making it.
