I freeze everything.  I love to bake too, but I'll never eat it all and J doesn't always love different things. He's not into trying interesting flavors.  Right now I have an apple pie, 3 kinds of cupcakes, 2 kinds a muffins, andes mint brownies and cookies dough in the freezer.  I love not having to eat it all at once and it thaws fast.

Do you have freezer space where you can do that?

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Cooking. I've become so dependent on microwave, I've forgotten how to make things from scratch.

@SnShne322 Actually I do, I have a deep freezer in the basement. I had just never thought about freezing baked good-the dough, sure but not once they are actually baked. I'll have to try it sometime.

I've found cupcakes, cheesecakes, brownies and cookies freeze really well.  I would think custard things could be challenging though.  It depends on what you like to bake!

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do?
There are so many options!  I always wanted to learn how to play ice hockey, though.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at?
Playing piano.  I've mostly forgotten, and I was primarily self taught to begin with.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often?
Playing flute.  I don't practice enough because I don't have performance opportunities except for occasionally playing at church.

    1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Play piano or guitar.  I'll get lessons one of these days...

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Control my facial expressions.  I can do it when I concentrate on it, but normally I just can't stop my face from revealing what I truly feel.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often?  Bake.  I'm actually a really good baker when I get up the energy to do it.  I just avoid having sweets at home because I'll eat them.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Crochet.
    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Knit. I am stuck in the land of scarves and hats. I would like to be able to make socks and maybe gloves.
    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? I am a good cook, but I don't really enjoy it, so I don't do it very often. The fact that I live alone doesn't help because I end up making things that I can eat as leftovers for the week, which doesn't leave much room for experimenting with new recipes.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? I'd love to learn how to do those furniture make-overs where somebody picks up a dresser left on the sidewalk, fixes it, and makes it look brand new but not tacky or like it has 500 coats of paint, and re-upholstering.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Budgeting and being more effective at work.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? Being social.  I used to go out a lot, plan things, and make a huge effort with my friends, but this is now limited to a few times a year.

This is me too.  I get lost entirely too often.

  • I wish I could learn to dance well with a partner. I do great alone, but as soon as someone touches me? I don't feel very competent.

As for what I'd like to work on? Years ago I could speak decent French, Japanese and Spanish. With each month that passes the latter two are getting worse. My daughter is in French immersion so at least we use that one at home regularly. She's learned so much this year! She'd be totally functional if we were to go to France again any time soon.

As for what I'm good at? Makeup application. I do a few brides in the summers. But leave it at that. Public speaking is another thing I can do. I currently do some every week. But I'm phasing out of that job.

  • @RiverPlate DH can just make a map in his head and figure out where he needs to go or he'll just know if he turns down x, y & z street then he'll end up where he needs to. I find this amazing. We'll be driving places and he'll ask if I know where we are. Unless the route is familiar, I have no idea. Thank goodness for GPS.

  • @NorthernLights - DH (who is a local, I'm a transplant but have lived here for 17 years so that's probably no excuse at this point) says I never know where I am because he usually drives and I have my nose stuck in a book so I don't pay attention to where we are or how to get there.  :)

I will admit that I rock the Metro.  I can get anywhere using the train, I know where stations are located and how to get everywhere in the city walking.  It's driving that trips me up.  I can (and have) driven in circles for an hour because of one-way streets or no-left-turns.  And traffic circles are the absolute worst.  I'm pretty useless in the car.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Speak French.
    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Photo editing - I'm learning a ton, but still have a long, long way to go.
    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? I'm going to steal Booney's answer and go with cake decorating. I used to run a cupcake business so obviously had to decorate all the time, but now I only ever get around to it for parties.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Speak French as well. I did very well with it in HS and would love to pick it back up.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? I wish I was better with photography. I can physically take a picture, but they never turn out well.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? I am pretty artistic and crafty but never have time to work on stuff like that.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Be social.I always feel so awkward.
    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Cooking. I can and do cook, but wish I was more creative with it.
    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? Photography, baking, cake decorating. J doesn't eat a lot of sweet stuff, so it all comes down to me...and my waistline can't take it all in, although it tries.
  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Paint or play the piano. Or write a book.  But are those things really something that you learn to do (I guess you can learn to play piano, but some people are just musical geniuses), or are they simply things that people can do?
     2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Budgeting. Every damn month I seem to go a little over.
    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? Baking. I love to bake.  Especially now that I have to cook gluten free for my daughter, I do all my baking gluten free, and I have found that sometimes I prefer GF sweets to non GF sweets.  If I ever get burnt out on teaching, I'd love to open a Dedicated Gluten Free Bakery.

    Books Read in 2016: 4/50

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Learn ALL the languages.  I would love to have the time to study another language or three.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at?  Cooking.  I'm not a bad cook and sometimes I'm even a good cook but it's pretty hit or miss these days.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? Cake decorating.  I love doing it but it's expensive and takes a lot of time.  Also, I really don't need to have a bunch of cake lying around the house.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do?  Play an instrument, specifically bass guitar or piano

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at?  I can sew, but I'm scared to try things that look too complicated and I know there is stuff my sewing machine is capable of that I don't even understand.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? Figure skating.  I used to compete and I skated 4-6 days a week year round in high school, but I barely ever go anymore.  I miss it terribly.
  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Public Speaking. I just can't do it.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at?  Sign Language. I've taken a few classes and was once in a sign choir, but I have forgotten so much of it already.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often?
    Rock Climbing. It's been ages!

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? Write both well and quickly at the same time. Also, I'd love to learn to knit. And make wine. And cheese.
    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? I'd love to get better at sewing. I can do some very basic stuff, but my sewing machine is ancient and sewing doesn't often make it to the top of my priority list.
    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? I used to be good at speaking Spanish, but I'm so out of practice that I feel really timid about it now.

I also know a lot of Spanish, but I rarely speak it because I am afraid of how I will sound. I know that is irrational because I speak to a lot of non-native English speakers and don't even think about their accents, but I am worried about how my Spanish would sound with my Pennsylvania accent on board.
