Re: Wacky Wednesday Poll

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do? cook. I mean, I can cook, but I don't really feel like it's something I do well. Everything I make it pretty simple.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at?sewing. I do really easy stuff but would love to make some more intricate things

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often?puzzles. I really enjoy doing them but it takes away from my reading time and the cat always steals my pieces.

I do puzzles on my iPad now.  DH hated how I would clutter up the dining room table for days and days (or weeks) with a puzzle all spread out.  iPad puzzles are certainly not the same, but it satisfies my urge to put things together.

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at? Playing the piano.

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? I would say baking too, except I actually do that pretty often :)  I used to be good (halfway decent anyway) at tennis, and someday I want to get back to it.

  • 1) What do you wish you could learn to do?  Play an instrument (I'd love to play guitar and be in a band!)

    2) What do you know how to do, but wish you were better at?  Juggle

    3) What are you good at, but don't really do that often? Put in IV's. I started a new non clinical job, but the nurse in me still eyes up everyone veins at the grocery store etc. I was pretty good, doctors would call from other areas of the hospital and ask for me to go look when the actual IV team or ER couldn't get a stick. I'm afraid of how quickly I may lose this skill now that I don't touch patients anymore.

How I wish you were around when I needed IVs. I had SO many put in, and my veins suck, and then just hardened up and were stubborn little roll-y things. The nurses never listened to me say that my left arm was USELESS to try and stick. They'd try, and not get a vein, and I'd have to sit through it. Nurses moved from my left arm to my right arm to the backs of my hands to my wrists (which I HATED - yuck), and eventually my feet. I wanted to pass out by the time we were done.

Right there with you.  I had to go to the ER last March and the EMTs gave up on trying to get one started on me.  I tell the phlebotomist that my veins have had enough so now they run away scared.
