I don't think you can ever be fully prepared! When A and S were both in the NICU, I desperately wanted them home. When they told us A would be discharged in a couple of days, we went into panic mode, lol. We weren't ready and they were four weeks old when A came home, 5.5 weeks when S came home. You just do what you can. It's nerve-wracking but you can do it.
For Mommies-to-be:
How many weeks are you? Today I am 8w 5d.
When is your EDD? September 24
How are you feeling? I am feeling pretty good today and yesterday. I pretty much have nausea in and out all day, but I realized yesterday if I eat all the time, I will be fine.
What are you craving? Apples and soda - like sprite or ginger ale.
What is grossing you out? Still onion rings and bacon, but pretty much if it doesn't look appealing to me, I won't eat it.
Have you bought/received anything for the baby lately? Nope.
Ultrasounds? Betas? Appointments? March 10 is the next OB appointment.
Have you / will you found out the sex? We will.
Any names picked out? Tristan Ryse (boy) and Elliana Marie (girl)
How is the nursery coming along? PIPs? Themes? Nothing until we move.
LOs Age(s): 4 years old.
Best part of your week? Watching her have such a good time at Dave and Busters on Valentine's Day. Her eyes lit up so much when she was winning tickets.
Worst part of your week? Lexi had caught another virus and spiked a 102.8 fever on Saturday. She also developed croup Friday morning. Luckily we had a 3 day weekend for her to recover. She is back to her old self, but she is still a little whiny. At least she's back to eating again.
Milestones? Her imagination just grows and grows. It's such a great feeling watching her interact with her toys like they were real.
LOs Age(s): 3w5d
Best part of your week? Colin is keeping his bottle down better. We went an entire day of feeding without spit up!
Worst part of your week? On Valentine's Day, DH and I went to dinner while my ILs watched him. Instead of playing with him during his awake time (we try to keep him awake and active at least two hours before bedtime), they let him sleep. It screwed up his schedule and he only slept in 45 minute increments the entire night. I wanted to kill them.
Milestones? Colin smiles! They aren't his usual gas smiles. This was while we were playing
PIP those kiddos! Blurry proof of said smile
