Thursday Randoms

I accidentally wore my shirt inside out to work today.  I'm too lazy to fix it yet.

  • My orange bra shows through my yellow shirt.  But at least people know that I am wearing a bra.  I was originally going to wear an orange shirt (hence the orange bra) but it didn't work out and at the last minute I had to change and didn't have time to change my bra.

There was a woman in our office building the other day who was wearing a t-shirt with cut off sleeves and no bra.  I turn in her direction and a get a visual of her boob flap.  Who does that?

  • This time next week I will be on my way to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.  I'm equally parts excited and terrified.

Also, my sorority sister is getting married in April.  Right after she got engaged we were chatting and she asked me for my address.  I assumed it was so she could send me an invitation, but I never got one.  The whole thing is making me feel a little weird and self-conscious.

  • H is heading out for a guys weekend tomorrow.  He suggested I reach out to the wives and see if they want to get together.  Nope.  Not doing it.  I feel like I have nothing in common with my friends here anymore.

  • I watched the pilot for a new show on The CW called Star-Crossed the other night. I've watched it two more times and can't stop drooling over the guy playing Roman.

  • Whenever I start to play a video game too often, they show up in my dreams. For example, the other night I dreamt about Plants vs Zombies 2, last night I dreamt about Ticket to Ride.

  • I fell on the ice on Tuesday and have my wrist in a huge splint. I go to the doctor today and am torn between hoping it is not broken so I don't have to miss work and hoping it is broken so I can take some time off.

You still have time.  Depending on what part of April it's not quite 6 weeks out yet.  I'd always read that 6-8 weeks is customary for wedding invitations, and that is what we did, too.  She may have also been very excited at the time of the engagement but once the financial picture started forming she might have had to curb her guest list more than anticipated.

  • Last night I dreamed I was hiking in some mountainous area while enormously PG.  As this is medically and physically impossible, the dream was bizarre.  Maybe my subconscious is telling me I'm fat and need to exercise more.

She posted a picture of an rsvp that she got back with a response date of February 22, so I know they have gone out.  This is what I think might have happened and I totally understand.  I have a tendency to way over think things and this is no exception.

I loved the test drive yesterday.  It's big enough to make me feel safe but not big enough to be a full on SUV.

  • I'm pissed at the Army yet again. I keep falling into the trap of thinking anyone actually gives a shit. I'm torn between wanting to cry and crawl back into bed or fantasizing some sort of passive agressive revenge.

Also, I hate the place I work for. I was going to stick it out 6 months to pass my probation but I keep seriously thinking about blowing this joint. I can't handle the complete incompetence of the management anymore. People just better avoid me today.

  • I think DH and I decided that we are only having one kid. It sounds totally selfish, but I want to eventually have me time again to read and travel and do things around the house and two kids won't allow that.

We are OaD and your reasoning is a huge part of it.  It's not selfish at all. I have a lot of financial and retirement goals that I don't want to compromise on.  To some it's selfish, to some it's smart.  I'm happy with the size of my family.

Thanks, I am still working in accepting this since I loved being pregnant and I am an only child so I wanted her to have a sibling, but this country is going down hill and financially I don't think we can do it all. Its nice to know that there are others out there who think this way too :)

Me either.  Selfish would be, "I don't want to have any kids because I need the nursery for a shoe closet".
