Not just expats. Every US citizen has to file taxes every year. So even if you're a US citizen because one of your parents was, and you've never set foot in the United States, you're still legally required to file a tax return if you earn above whatever the minimum is for filing.

And it's a lot harder overseas, because you have to file all kinds of additional forms to avoid having to pay additional income tax to the US on top of whatever you're paying locally. I actually have a tax party every year where a bunch of Americans and Green Card holders get together and go step-by-step through the tax software to fill out all the different forms.

What are you most looking forward to in March? Finally deciding on daycare/ preschool for the boys. This whole interviewing strangers and wondering if I can trust them with the most important things in my life is so stressful and I can't wait to be done with it. Plus it involves talking on the phone. Ick.

What are you least looking forward to in March? Saying goodbye to our current wonderful baby-sitter next week.

@Super_Librarian do you have a FreshFields near you? They have a cookie dough that you buy in the refrigerated section that's not meant to be cooked -- it doesn't have any egg or other no-nos in it. We saw them present on Shark Tank, and I tried it, and it is soooo gooooood.
