Re: What is the best book you have read recently?

  • I've read so many good books this year: Five Days At Memorial, The Silent Wife, Revenge (creepy short stories by Yoko Ogawa), Anything That Moves, and the Golem and the Jinni have been the best so far.

I'm probably late to the party on this one but I just finished the audio version of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and LOVED it! I'm already halfway through book 2 in the series. I was surprised bc I started it with low expectation.
Maybe this is best.  I stopped recommending it even though I loved it because the 2 IRL people I tried to get to read it DNF after only about 100 pages.

  • I'm writing some of these down!
The best one I've read so far this year is Midnight Bayou by Nora Roberts, followed closely by The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

  • The Golem and the Jinni and Alienated are two I've been super into lately.

  • I haven't really loved any books I have read recently. I would say the Cider House Rules is my favorite so far but I wasn't as in live with it as many people are.

I dunno why I had low expectations, it's just for some reason it never peaked my interest but I started it for the WBC and I'm totally in love with the characters...esp Salinder, she's a cool chick!
