Re: cpw: Nicknames

  • I said yes, because I don't always call him by his given name. But I don't have a specific nickname that I only call him, or that only I call him.

Mostly love, bob, george, fred, sunshine, or babe- depends mostly on the circumstances :)

I can't remember how our nicknames came about but we have always been: Monkey (me) Muffin (DH).
Otherwise when DH is being his typical diva self which is like 90% of the time he is called Princess.
    Oh and Hubby

  • I don't have one for him, but he calls me pumpkin
  • Not really, but we will call each other hunny, babe, baby, love, sugar, butthead, we call each other all sorts of names. Except usually we do not call each other by our normal names... Lol

  • DH and I never address each other by our actual names. It's usually some sort of pet name like babe. He calls me babygirl or princess a lot. I used to call him Chuck-e when we first started dating because he was so cheesy.

  • It's very rare that we call each other by our given names.  I call him "Lovie" and he calls me "Sweetie".  I'll often call him babe or baby, too.

We call each other "honzee" or "honzer" a lot.  Also, there is a lot of "butt" and "farter" thrown around.  Mostly affectionately. ;)

I refer to DH by his whole first name, even though his family and friends use the shortened version. But I don't call him that; only when I'm talking to other people about him lol.

  • Mostly we call each other poppet, but also by our last name. Babe sometimes. We have many names.

thanks :) It's a play off my name

And I do the same thing with my brother that you do with your H. I will ONLY call him by his long name. It's strange because I am BIG on nicknames and will shorten everyone's name/give you a nn unless you specifically tell me not to! I can't help it! Doesn't matter if I've known you a day or 5 years. And YOU get a nickname and YOU get a nickname! :)

I will NEVER call my brother Jon; he has been and always will be Jonathan to me. It doesn't feel natural to call him anything else, even though my family are the only ones to call him by his full name.  I wish I met you IRL so I could get a nickname! :)

  • @PandPMeant2B. If it helps, I call you panda in my head bc the first time I read your "name" on here I thought it said panda bc I read it too fast. It's stuck that way in my head now. Lol
I thought I was the only one, lol. My brain always reads it as panda for some reason.

  • We used to call each other 'baby' when we started dating and my now-MIL flipped out because what we would we call our future baby?  So now DH is bubby.  Same idea.
  • H goes by his middle name, but I always call him by his first name. He calls me all sorts of different names, nothing really consistent.
  • DH always calls me Momma. Not Mama, but Momma. DH and DS do "The Momma Cheer" so it has to be spelled that way. M-O-MMA! Then I yell Whooo! It is normally randomly yelled somewhere in the house and I am fully expected to respond at any given time no matter where I am.

I call DH, Hun or Huneez
