Hey All,
I did the TTC Check-In and someone recommended that I introduce myself - so here I am ! My name is Sam (Samantha really - but no one calls me that) and DH and I have been married since 12/14/13 (and together since 11/26/2010).
Some random stuff about me: I have a Masters' of Science degree in Higher Education. I currently work in a University advising students. My interests vary from crocheting, dancing (Hip-Hop is my favorite), watching TV (Scandal, Revenge, Grey's, Vampire Diaries, The Originals.. you name it, I TiVo it) and reading. I'm relatively introverted and get embarrassed INCREDIBLY easily. Some of my dislikes are: driving, talking on the phone with anyone but my BFF/MOH and Mom and very-outdoor things (hiking, biking, mountain climbing - ick!).
Our Story: DH and I met at a job training in 2010 and he snuck me into the men's bathroom to wash my hands (there was no soap in the girl's bathroom). We were instant friends after that and worked together for the summer. I graduated and moved away for a few months for a Grad Assistantship. When I moved home (a semester early as my mom was sick), we went on our first date and the rest was history. We balance each other out really well - we're both a little different and a little similar. We're both laidback and relaxed. We love to sit next to each other on the couch and just read all day. We're both funny (or at least we think we are) and can laugh at anything. On the flip side, I am a very anxious person and believe that 5 minutes early is on time and DH has "keep calm, carry on" tattooed on his arm and is late for EVERYTHING. I need to have a plan and he's a fly by the seat of his pants kinda guy. He brings me back to earth and I keep him on his toes.
Our Now: We moved to VT for work (his work initiated the move and I found a job relatively quickly before we completed the move). We are both incredibly family oriented and it's hard to tell who's more excited to TTC. So far, we feel like TTC has made our marriage even better for a few reasons. First, we both want kids and a large family and it's like we're getting the rest of our fairy tale - we're both even more "glowy" now that we've decided. Secondly, we aren't telling people (our families like to put a lot of pressure on us - they have an idea but don't know when) so it's like we have this secret and a little bit like we're sneaking around like teenagers. I know that may seem silly but we're having fun with it.
TTC: I got my IUD out about 7 weeks ago. We were planning on waiting a little longer but after I ovulated last, we were laying on the couch talking about life and realized we were ready and wanted to start trying. I'm currently waiting for AF (any time between today and Tuesday, or so I think - IUD removal made last month weird) and then it's "go time" (according to DH lol)
Thanks for welcoming me to your community

Welcome,
I'm relatively new here too and was married about a month before you (11/15/13). Enjoy this time in life. You mentioned you tend to be anxious. I'm the same way. When starting out on this journey there is a lot of information to go through or thrown at you. Try not to let it get to you. I was a little stressed over it all at first. I've had a few friends even give me fertility books. That's a lot of reading for research for having babies. I found the fertility friend app to be a quick go to place for information. DH and I are just trying to have fun with everything. I stressed myself out in January and thought I was pregnant since my period was erratic and almost non existant for one week in January. When I wasn't I was a bit disappointed.
A bit about myself. I was an English major and college and used to teach middle and high school. I love to read and sitting and reading next to hubby is one of my favorite things to do as well. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I hate going to the gym, but am getting more consistent at it. I've found it's easier to read on the treadmill/ ellipitical with practice.
When not at home I can be found working with some local non-profit groups in my area to raise scholarship money for collegiate women. My friends and I actually have a mini-adventure club going and thanks to Groupon/ Living Social have been fencing, bon-bon making, painting and doing aerial acrobatics. Additionally, hubby and I love going on nature walks. The beach (ocean) is my favorite spot, but I've been known to hike along rivers, canals and even through the woods. I'm terrified of bugs especially spiders, so i'm actually impressed at how much I enjoy being in the woods sometimes.
Most of my friends already have kids as do all of my family members. I love having a large extended family, but each of siblings has (or will have) three kids.
B/w 1/8: betas 17,345, progesterone 25.6
DE IVF ER - 12/2/2016 (17R/10F = 8 frosties); FET 1.0 (1/27/2017) - BFP 6dp5dt (EDD 10/16/2017)
In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!
T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.
