Happy First Friday of Spring!! What are you reading?

How do you like it so far? Is it for any of the challenges? Since today is the first full day of spring- how's the weather where you are today?

  • Last night I started A Walk in the Park by Jill Mansell. Too soon to tell how I like it. It's #21 for my yearly goal.

Today it's cold right now (20s) but is supposed to get to 50 degrees today.

I am hoping we make it to the 50s. I am so ready for some warmer weather.

I'm listening to The Enchantress, it is #40 for the year, I'm not very far in but it's enjoyable so far.

I heard snow in the forecast for next week.  I'm pretending that didn't happen.

Moonlight Masquerade by Ruth Axtell. Historical/regency fiction. It's okay. A lot of political talk.

    #34 for the year.

It's supposed to be 60 and sunny! That means we're going swimming! (J/k). Snow and 30s next week so...you know...

  • I'm listening to The Masterharper of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, reading A Reckless Witch by Debora Geary on Kindle, and All the Weyrs of Pern by Anne McCaffrey.  I was in a dragon kind of mood.

All of these I've read before.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I am hoping to finish Lover Avenged today.  I'm loving it so far and can't wait to see how it ends.  I'm also reading Blue Dahlia.  I'm not very far into it yet but I love all NR books and I can't imagine this one being any different.

Weather wise it is crappy here today.  It had been warming up finally but it dropped back down to -33C with the wind again today! Yuck, I just want spring already!

  • I'm reading Just One Day by Gayle Forman. I'm liking it so far about 56% done so I'll probably close to finish it this weekend. It's number 11 for the year.

It's 37 here now but supposed to go out to 50 but then cold and snow next week.
  • I finally finished The Harding Era!!!!!!!!! Whoohoo

Now I am finishing up with We, the Drowned by Carsten Jensen.  I love the writing in this book and am sad to see it come to an end.

I also just started The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.  I am barely into it so I don't have an opinion just yet.

These are books 34 and 35 for the year.

  • I'm reading The Wolf of Wall Street.  It's entertaining, but the writing is atrocious and the author is an asshole.  I keep saying I'll give it one more day, one more day, one more day, so we'll see how much longer it lasts.  I'm almost half through now.

I'm listening to Doctor Sleep.  I'm on disc 3/15, and still struggling to get into it.  It just hasn't grabbed me like I was hoping it would.  I have no intention of quitting on it or anything so drastic as that, but I'm hoping it picks up.

These are numbers 15 and 16 for the year.  No challenges or goals this year.

I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird for the first time ever and really enjoying it.  It's 14/52 for the year.

It's been 75-80 and gorgeous here all week. I think it's supposed to be about 65 today but warm back up by Monday, though I know for most of you right now, 65 is shorts and tank top weather.

  • Thr3e by Ted Dekker-  I have this feeling that the author is trying to be on Dean Koontz's level, but is falling short.  The story isn't awful, but I'm definitely not at the edge of my seat yearning for more.

  • I am finally reading The Dream Thieves. I held off because I have a signed copy and didn't want to mess it up. Dumb, I know. I love it so far. I think everything she writes (well, maybe not the Fever series) is amazing.

How are you liking this? I remember reading it quite a while ago and really enjoying it. It is actually where I got part of my SN from. I had also read Saving CeeCee Honeycutt around the same time.

ETA: Not that I identified with or necessarily admired either of the MCs, I just had the name CeeCee on the brain.

  • Listening to A Stolen Life: A Memoir by Jaycee Dugard.  The first half was hard to read because it was horrible and terrfying what she went through.

Just started Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas.

  • I'm about 3/4 of the way through The Fiery Cross.  While parts of it are much more enjoyable this time around, there is some definite slogging.  I'm about to hit the roller-coaster ride towards the end though!

  • I'm reading Gilded by Christina Farley. I'm not very far into it yet, and so far it's "meh". I'm alittle annoyed at the Asian cliche's being thrown around. I was happy to see an Asian MC, but it feels forced and trite. Maybe it will get better. #17 of 60 for the year.

The weather here is gorgeous. Mid 70's and sunshine. We really, REALLY need rain, but it's hard to complain when it is so perfect outside.

I just finished The Summer I turned Pretty by Jenny Han and have finally gotten to a point in The Hollow City by Ransom Riggs where I'm fully into the story.

It's nice today, supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow, then back into the low 40's for Sunday.
