O.M.G. I have never been so anxious/nervous after a doctor appointment in my life…
As some of you may remember, I went to a new RE for a second opinion after 2 failed cycles of Clomid and IUI and just a general dissatisfaction with our previous RE. New RE ordered a ton of labs (which amazingly, because of how he coded them, have been covered by insurance so far!) and today was the follow-up to that. For starters, taking DHEA and CoQ10 did shit for my labs compared to where I was last year (in fact my AMH fell from 0.76 to 0.55, ugh). The biggest things that RE found that may be contributing is a low TNF (tumor necrosis factor) which apparently has something to do with your immune system function and a low IG-F which has something to do with growth hormone. He is recommending starting me on a few different meds to help with both, and then starting the IVF process next cycle (we had planned for July).
Since everything is OOP for us, I had a bit of a freak out after this appointment. It's crazy how many emotions you go through when the time has come to move forward with IVF, even things that DH and I had discussed at length before. I think my biggest issue has been the possibility of what happens if we spend all of this money (that we will continue paying for at least a year), and it doesn't work. Thankfully, I had a 2 hour drive home today to think about this and process it all in my head before I came home to cry to DH. If it's not successful, obviously, we'll be devastated, but we both agree that it's time to at least try.
Medications start tomorrow… recheck of my TNF and IGF is in 2 weeks… if we're all good, April 10th is when it starts. The one fun thing (if you can call it that) is that the ET is tentatively the day before our 2 year wedding anniversary. Maybe that will bring us good luck?
Sorry this got so long… I just needed to share with some understanding peeps. This is going to be a long couple of months…
